Immediate results; highly recommemded...
This stuff does not taste good at all, but I learned to ignore it. I've had issues taking liquid medicines since childhood, so this was definitely a concern. On the bottle, it says to not take more than 1-2 oz of liquid within 15 minutes around the dosage. At first I thought it said "none." Then I read it again a few days later, and realized I could take a small swallow of water to chase it, and it made all the difference (maybe about the amount of a full medicine cup). It also helps to shoot the dropper toward the back corner of your tongue. My testimony goes a little something like this: Due to the case of Jaundice, my milk took a bit to get established within the first month as it was necessary to supplement. At about 4 weeks, I was determined to get her completely on the breast. So I started researching and this was recommended somewhere on just about every blog I read. So after going back and forth for a few days (wondering if I should just start with Fenugreek rather than possibly waste $30 on this stuff), I ordered it. It came within the week. However, I did start this with Fenugreek. I started with the recommended dose once in the morning and once in the evening, as well as a dose of Fenugreek. I noticed a HUGE difference the next morning. Within 2 days, this child stayed on the boob; it was noticeably easier on her. After the first week, I would take a dose in the morning, then Fenugreek and my prenatals in the evening. I continued like that for nearly 3 weeks out of habit. That's when I realized I shouldn't have to take this stuff on a regular basis since all I needed was a boost; once your body knows what it needs, it does the rest for you. The last thing I needed was to be dependent on it. By 6-weeks, she was off supplements. By 8-weeks, I stopped taking this and Fenugreek altogether. She just turned 4-months and I haven't needed either supplement in the last 2 months. I have about half a jar left for a rainy day. My son is 12, and we tried breastfeeding for 6 weeks before we called it quits. I was only able to nurse maybe 20% of the time, the only thing keeping me from drying out was taking Fenugreek 3 times a day...but that was it; it wasn't giving me a boost, it was just keeping me from drying out. Breastfeeding takes such a physical and mental toll on a woman's body, but if you keep pushing yourself, it WILL work out. When I was down to my last depressed sigh thinking I would fail once again, this stuff was my saving grace. So from my previous experience with Fenugreek, I would definitely say, Motherlove Milk Plus was dominant supplement that pulled me through. To any breastfeeding mom out there: it's frustrating. But if you're determined, it WILL get better. Now thanks to this stuff my baby girl gets the best nutrition possible. If only I had this stuff 12 years ago. UPDATE 3/25/2014: My daughter is now 9.5-months-old. She is still fully breastfed. Over the months, due to adding solids to her diet, I've had a few instances where I needed another boost. Thankfully I still had (and still have) some of this on hand. Usually just 2-3 doses will do the trick. I'm still a believer in this product. UPDATE #2 4/10/2016: Right after my last update, I became pregnant with my second daughter. Right at by previous 12 months, as expected, my milk started dropping due to the new pregnancy. Because this product is not recommended for use during pregnancy, I couldn't use it for that extra boost again for her. (I still managed to nurse until 13 months, though.) I purchased this product again before my second daughter was born. And again, like the miracle potion it is, we are still nursing strong at 15 months. This time around I only used it sparingly 1-2 doses a day for 1-3 days, and without the additional help of Fenugreek. I was hoping to have her weened by now, but she's not interested. At this point in our journey, I can take one dose in the morning, and feel the results by late afternoon. For any friends who are planning to nurse, I always recommend this product to be on hand before baby gets here. Some first-time will insist they won't need it, but in a few months the ones that were backed in a corner like I was have come back thanking me for the recommendation. So again, this product is highly recommended!

It helped me produced much more breast milk!
I had a csection and the pain medicine made it very hard to produce milk. I finally tried this When my baby was 2 months old. after using it several weeks my milk more than doubled. I went from 1-2 oz pumping both breast to 4-5 oz!! Then after another month finally was able to pump 7 ounces first thing in the morning and consistently 4-5 ounces at each feeding throughout the day. My milk is now full and my baby is 90% breast milk daily with one or two bottle 4oz with formula daily . However on average she has one or no bottles of formula daily. It's a blessing to make breast milk for my baby who is now 6 months old. It did take a lot of hard work to get here but I'm here! Also I used Brewers Yeast consistently throughout the day on my food and ate oatmeal whenever possible. A few times a week i had fennel pills but not much. The downsize is that this gave my baby really bad gas .. when she was 2 months old she'd cry really bad from it all night . So bad I wouldn't get sleep( I had gas too). So I tried not to take it at night so it would not be in my breast milk .. but as she got older either the gas was less or her body was okay with it. I typically bought this at whole foods when I could make it to the store. If not I ordered it online.

life-saver
A co-worker told me of this product after I complained about my decreasing supply for my 5-6 month old (at the time). Fast forward 4-5 months and this product has really helped me. I have had zero supply concerns since starting this supplement. That said, you can't expect this supplement to do everything for you. You still need to consume adequate fluids (or your body won't have any fluids to make milk regardless of whether or not you take the supplement) and avoid salt as much as possible. I will be using this product until I'm done nursing my babe. UPDATE 7/18/2011 I'm still taking this MotherLove More Milk Plus Liquid. I didn't comment on the taste in my original review and I feel I should comment on that as well as how things are going now that some more time has passed. As everyone else has stated it does taste horrendous. However, it's just a little dropper full of liquid. The instructions say to avoid consuming more than 2 oz of fluid 15mins before or after taking the supplement. I normally don't drink anything until 15 mins after (despite the awful taste). However, I have taken a small sip of water and it does, in my opinion, take away the worst of the taste in your mouth. If it's still bugging you after 15 mins you can always chug a bunch of water then---and that will be great for increasing your supply too! I have noticed that it seems like Motherlove needs to build up in your system before you see the effects. I have gone on a 1-2 week hiatus from using the Motherlove a couple of times. My supply seems to slowly decrease. Then when I finally bite the bullet and start using it again b/c my supply just isn't there it take 2-3 days of consistently taking the motherlove and remembering to drink enough fluids before I start to see a significant increase in my supply. So, if it doesn't work for you right away, try to give it a little more time. This might sound like a huge pain, but for me it's worth it. I guess everyone needs to weight their own priorities in determining if it's right for them. In my opinion it's really important to feed my son breast milk until he's one year old PLUS the cost of formula is way too high for our income. Those things make this supplement "worth it" for me.
