Great Stove - Great Customer Service
The stove is great and the US Stove Company's customer service is top notch. The stove was shipped via Fed Ex and the box was broken up and taped together when it was dropped off. A cosmetic portion of the stove was broken. We contacted the manufacturer and would have been happy to just have the replacement part shipped, but they immediately sent out a new stove! This one was also broken, and having learned our lesson, we refused the delivery and sent it back. The US Stove Company then sent us the replacement part. The customer service we received was prompt and solution oriented. We are love the stove and are glad we purchased from this company!

Just what I was looking for
Burns great, I keeps my 1700 sq foot garage around 55 degrees when its in the 20's out side. Thats what i was looking for, just enough heat to keep my water pipes from freezing incase of a poweroutage You do have to burn it a few times to get the oils from the factory off of it, just like any cast iron you get. It took me a few hrs to burn it hot to burn off all the protective oils. I do recommend buying the thermal fan that will help move around the heat. UPDATE it is 8 degrees out side and my 1700 sq foot garage is 64 degrees. This is a great buy.

Will do the job
I purchased this stove for back up heating when the power goes out. It’s smaller than I expected. The listing says it can hold 19 inch logs and it will, but take the thickness you would expect a normal wood stove to accept and split it again. When I received the stove the packaging was beat up pretty bad. Fortunately, when I opened it up, the damage was pretty much cosmetic around the top edges, pieces broken off, etc. but the firebox is completely intact. I installed with a flue damper about 18 inches above the stove. I didn’t make any changes to the stock draft controls built into the stove. When I started the first fire I tried to start in the middle (front to back). Not ideal. I then started with much smaller kindling and much smaller fire all the way in the back beneath the flue. This worked great. Once the kindling was burning well, I gradually added larger and larger pieces towards the middle and then the front of the firebox. I noticed that the fire easily worked it’s way forward until I had a nice, hot, self sustaining fire. Once established I could add larger logs. The stove has a well designed draft control if you use this approach. Some say their doors don’t seal but the door on mine seals up nicely, no leaks, no problems. The stove burned all night and in the morning only embers remained. I will say, if you’re going to use this stove to heat through a cold winter night you’ll need to add more fuel every 2~3 hours. If you have good draft, I wouldn’t make any changes to the draft controls built into the stove.

Missing a hole for the door peg
The first stove came very chipped in the front it almost cut my hand. So I had them come and get it. The second one had missing holes so I asked for new door. They send me a new door with a hole in it like it was supposed to be so I changed my rating to 4 stars. But I still had to drill a hole myself where the door attaches. It's a nice stove. It's warm once heated. But the handle keeps falling off. The company takes care of you if you send them pictures. Other then that I'm happy with the stove. It's warm and it's really fun to warm up to on a cold day.

WASTE OF MONEY!
Doesn't do anything good! Made from the cheapest of metal! Supposed to be cast iron, but more like pot metal! Castings are of the lowest "quality", core shift is obviously a major problem! Two legs on opposite ends broke off after assembly because one leg didn't even reach the floor! It sat about 2-3 inches off the floor! After disassembling and reassembling multiple times to try and get the legs level, ended up getting one leg to sit only 1-2 inches off the floor! The flue collar was cast so poorly that it will never fit into the cast in flange it is supposed to sit in. I spent three hours grinding on it to finally get it to fit. I "tried" to get a fire started in it, only to discover it won't draw worth crap! Smoke filled the room every single time I opened the door, and every time I closed the door, the fire would go out! I even had placed 4 fire bricks in the bottom as suggested by the manufacturer. The problem is it just doesn't draw enough fresh air to support combustion with the door closed, and the huge block mounted in the top that fully blocks the flue opening certainly can't be helping. This is what you get when mindless zombie bureaucrats at the EPA forcing their stupidity on people. If possible, I'm going to try to get a refund, but as I had to modify it, I doubt that will be possible. I wasted $414 dollars on this thing, and I don't understand why the price fluctuates daily on Amazon. Right after buying and before it arrived, I saw the price drop to $389, then rise to over $700 and it's currently $500! What is up with that? It would be overpriced at $100!

Handle sucks !
I’m in the same boat as every body else , stove seems decent but the handle is garbage , mine broke right out the box ( one small tax weld holds handle together and it broke ) the rivets also broke that hold the handle holder to the stove , called the company lady acted like she didn’t really care , I’m an American and if u gonna slap the American name on something make it count !!!! For anybody reading this I saw another guy had the same problem and ditched the handle with the coil for a set of vice grips attached to the handle on the door and it is a lil ghetto but works better then the handle the stove comes with

Great little stove for the $$$
This is a terrific little stove for the money. DEFINITELY install a damper or better yet a Magic Heat reclaimer as most of your heat will go out the stove pipe otherwise. I also use those thermo-fans to move some heat around the room, but to be honest I'm not crazy about them. Better than nothing is all I'll say. Another positive is that the stove is small, and I was able to move and position it without much trouble. I had to contact US stove about a parts issue, and their customer support response was fast and friendly.
