It makes a beautiful top cover for my succulents that also help retain some moisture in the summer heat. The colors are accurate after washing or watering - it's dusty at first. I highly suggest you just place it on top and water right after to reveal the colors. It doesn't fade after drying and the dusky green and brown is a nice touch to the color range. My only con about this is the packaging - you should not stand this bag up and expect it to stay up... it's too heavy (i spilt it all over my work space the first time I opened it), so either be careful when taking some out and seal it back up right away or move it to any other container that isn't paper.

I started a little cactus garden and wanted different colors to show off my favorite succulents. These lava rocks looked just right. When they arrived, they were a bit dusty and when I hosed them down they turned into a bright pretty black. The packaging was great, comes in a bag that I can just pour around my succulents. The water goes right through and because I live in the desert, I want to take make sure it doesn't go to waste. The lava rock helps that.

I love the black rocks, it's easy to clean, beautiful shine, Smooth to the touch and it protects the plants from bugs. One thing be careful the Rock are pretty large, I had to break it up for some plants that have delicate and small roots. My little baby looks expensive (A touch of Class).

Good for small/thin rooted alocasia but very small, same size as perlite that you find at a big box store. Was good to add to my fluval, perlite mix to stretch it, however not for my chunky aroid mix. Will buy again for my very specific needs for alocasia.

This is great gravel. It looks like crushed black&white granite. I use this small granite and other colors of granite to fill in around my hen & chicks in pots to cover any bare spots. I really like the look.

The black lava pebbles were use as "coal" on my 3/16 scale model railroad, a different use but for the bulk are a good value.

Product is so expensive but I was prepared to pay for the right item but Product is smaller than advertised. Disappointing .

Great lava stone but you don't get a lot.

When it arrived, so disappointed..checked my order..was " multi colour ".. bag looked like dark brown with a few beige bits...Washed it luke reviews said..and it was like magic! All the colours were there. Used a sieve to wash it..too small for colander..suddenly all the colours were there..
