it helps but why is it so expensive? imported no doubt. For me in hot weather it's only cool for 20 minutes but I'm small bodied and only take up half of its width so I roll to one side where it's still cool and let the other side cool down. I don't need to remove it from the bed or turn it over. I just shift around. once I'm asleep it doesn't matter to do that though. So I only bought it as a last resort after trying everything to keep cool in a heatwave. AC would be great but this is simple enough for now Edit a year later: I actually need 2. I keep it in the fridge now because weather is too hot for it to be cool enough. After half hour I would like to replace it with the other cool mat but it's too expensive to buy another

Cools you down almost instantly. Cooling is not for extended periods only for about 30 minutes - after 1 hour it will start to feel like a heating pad if it is used continuously. Game changer for a good nights sleep. If only a little hot - even placing your hand between a folded pad will cool you off.

I wasn't sure how well this would work, but it's actually surprisingly cool. It eventually warms up through the night, but it at least buys some extra time in terms of my body heating up overall. Also love that it's super easy to clean. Only wish that it was a little bit larger lengthwise.
