Very nice leads, with a nice soft line for drawing, which is what I needed them for. All the leads arrived unbroken, though the dispenser was a bit difficult to figure out. Look up the video " Staedtler's clever lead tray dispenser and how the leadholder got its hardness indicator" by Bleistift on YouTube for a demonstration.Btw, the purple plastic piece is a *lead hardness indicator* made to go into the top of the Staedler pencil. One of the photos by a reviewer here shows it inserted into the lead dispenser, which is not its purpose. The Bleistift video shows how to use it.Overall a great product at a great price!

Works great with the matching lead holders. Staedtler is 2nd behind Tombo for a very consistent and smooth lead that leaves lovely, rich marks on paper. Tombo doesn't make a precision lead holder so this is a very solid choice. It also includes a colored cap you use to replace the cap on your Steadtler lead holder so you can know what lead is in what holder.These are for drafting, but they work wonderfully for figure drawing. Its super handy not to have to fiddle with sharpeners when doing lots of gestures. The lead is still a very nice width even when rounded out from lots of drawing. Its also nicely cost effective compared to expensive Tombo wood pencils that seem to vanish down to an inch long in about 3 eye blinks.Besides just everything about this packaging, the design, the the details, and the companion holders is just so, utterly German. I automatically feel more industrious and precise when using them.

Works as should and came in the conditions it should be arriving- intact, no broken or missing lead pieces.The sharper isn’t much of a sharpener, it doesn’t have a blade, it’s just a plastic mold to shape the lead but kinda doesn’t sharpen much.
