Customer Service
I got this product because of its quality and durability, and don't get me wrong all of that is great. But what is not great is the customer service. The customer service team is the worst that I have ever had to deal with. They say that it will take them 1-2 days to verify. My verification process started on May 30th and as of today June 8th still nothing ( and you cannot take cc orders on this until the verification process is complete) I called in one evening at 5:55pm because they do not close until 7pm, they kept me on hold until about 6:45pm, said that I could hit 1 to hold my place in line and they will return my call, as of today still no return phone call. I call them, I was given a time frame of 24 hours, of which this matter will be resolved. 28hrs later, still nothing, I called backed, the agent said that the other agent should have not given me a time frame of 24 hours. I said why because you all are free with passing out time frames, because you all give a time frame of 1-2 days for verification, so don't blame the other agent if she felt free to lie as well. So, I asked to speak to a supervisor, well as you guessed it NO supervisors in the building at all. The agents have free will to say and do whatever they want. I hung up and called right back (hoping to get someone else, we all have done it). Well, well lucky me I got the same person. I told the agent at SumUp that I didn't care how great their product was, if the customer service stinks. Then the whole product is a no go for me, cancel my account, I'm sending this product back, and I expect a speedy refund. And the agent still asked me to take the survey at the end of the call. YEAH!!! I WILL TAKE YOUR SURVEY SumUp!

It's better than the solo. Don't buy the solo.
Well, this one is way better than solo. The solo is pretty much useless. I have a review on the solo as well. It's definitely a one star. I do a lot of card processing with my business. I switched from square terminal which is just phenomenal. The processing fees are a little over price for square. So the first of the year I switched to sum up. I'll give you a little understanding of sumup. Before you use any device you need to get approved by them. It takes about 3-4 days. So don't be mad at that process. Nothing will work. No devices will be able to work until you'd get that done. If you want to use invoicing from the app, you have to request it. If you want payment links you have to request it.. with square processing and the terminal or the app, it's already all enabled. I do over $100,000 a year in processing just for my independently own and operated business. I'm a mobile business. So I need a device that works good and cutting down on processing fees. The invoicing from the app it's you pay more for the invoicing than you do square. The payment links you you pay the same as your normal processing fees. I don't get it. As for this device, I have a video and a couple pictures of it. It does accept tap swipe or dip. The keys on the this unit they're useless. They don't work. There's nothing. I don't understand why they even have them. I don't understand why when you're using this device I can't charge taxes to my customers. I have to manually enter it in. Basically I have to calculate the tax at checkout and then type in the amount. Even though it's enabled in the app, I don't get it. If you go to their Twitter account, you'll see that there's a lot of problems. I don't know what and I haven't had any of those issues. And the other part about this device you got to connect it every time. I don't understand why I can't just stay connected to the app through Bluetooth. Is it a big deal to me? Yes and no. I don't know if I'm going to stay with some up. I can't decide. I do want to cut down on the fees but I'm starting to think maybe the extra fees for quality products and square terminal handheld unit is amazing. As for this device, if they could fix the issue with having it connected every single time I want to run a transaction, that'd be nice. I would give it an extra two stars. If you're considering some up, understand you're going to have some hiccups. The the processing fees are nice either a lot less than square. If you don't do a lot of processing, just go with square. But if you do a lot of processing, give this device a try. But just don't buy the solo. The solo is absolute garbage and the solo does not have swipe. I don't get it. I don't understand why they can't have a swipe on it. Cuz randomly once in a blue moon I get someone with a car that doesn't have a chip or tap. I don't know why but then I got to manually enter it. As for features, it doesn't have a lot of features, it just does what they have does. I just wish it could stay connected like the square one, the little tap and dip. But overall I'm okay and I can deal with it. For now I'm not sure if I'm going to stay with sum up card processing. Definitely do your research check with square square. Definitely has the upper hand in hardware and software. Sum up. Could be good if they just got it together. Just do your research. Toast is another good option. I don't use it because it's really made for restaurants. But if you're a mobile business or a service provider business where you accept payments a few times a day or just a vendor, I would go with square. But if you do a lot of processing, do your research But the hardware overall it's okay. I wish I could give a better review. Reviews are important for companies including myself and I would love to get the best review possible but three stars is all I can give unless they get there pants on and get their stuff together.

Hardware appears to be robust and well made. Bought as alternative to Square, whose card readers mysteriously fail to work after 6 months. Trouble is, the SumUp app isn't available for download in Australia, so can't use it.
