Sturdy and effective
My boyfriend loves grabbers and has me sold in them too. When I’m tired it’s so much easier to pick up the debris that’s blown into the yard after a storm or pick up the clothes off the bathroom floor (let’s be real. After taking the hamper out of the bathroom to do laundry it takes at least a week for it to get back in there right? No? Just me?). Now the problem is my boyfriend should really be a durability tester for… well everything. He seems to be just going about life normally but somehow his shoes, clothes, phones (don’t get me started on the phones) and yes grabbers don’t last more than a couple months. Honestly with the grabbers we’re lucky if they last a month. Now those grabbers aren’t cheap to replace every month or two and it’s been draining the bank. Then I saw this beautiful, durable, work of art. I told him if this one didn’t last, we were going to have to develop one ourselves because we couldn’t afford to keep replacing them. This is the real deal. It worked so well for him that I bought a second one for myself. It’s super lightweight so I end up carrying it around because I forget I’m holding it. You would think with something as light as this is that it would bend or break with pressure, but I was able to lift and move a gallon of milk from where it fell (long story) up and over a fence, across the yard, up the stairs, and into the house. This thing didn’t bat an eye at the weight and the grip it so easy to maintain, my hand didn’t even cramp up doing it. My hand usually cramps up carrying the gallon from the car to the stairs so the fact that it was easier to use this grabber than carry it by hand amazed me. The only thing I would change about this miracle of a device is to add rubber to the teeth because trying to pick up anything metal that’s round with it is like trying to catch a greased pig. It’ll slip and slide on it. I used some electrical tape on the tips on mine and it solved that issue. This device is worth not just its weight but also my weight in gold. We have gone through dozens of grabbers that all failed the boyfriend durability test. This is the only one that passed. I’m going to have to order a couple more so my kids stop stealing mine. Parents if you have teenagers who act like picking up their room is cruel and unusual punishment, this is a game-changer. My teens who would have to be coerced into picking up their room by changing the wifi password, now steal my grabber to pick up their room without having to be asked. There are also different lengths to choose from which is amazeballs because I’m short and the longer grabbers are unwieldy and awkward for me (my boyfriend prefers the longer ones which makes sense since he’s taller). This is very likely the best thing I’ve purchased in years. Buy it. You can thank me later.

All Metal except the Handle - Boo
This is a great grabber except for on thing, the handle. Can you pick up logs for a fire, not large ones, but smaller ones yes. Can you pick up twigs, frogs, snakes, or anything else, pretty much. If you try to overdo it though, the plastic handle flexes at the pivot point and I can see that being a point of failure in the future if this is used regularly for heavier lifting. Now with all that said, it is great for general work around the property. I use it primarily for removing twigs, and leaf bouquets that get stuck in the fence when I working with the leaf blower, and for clearing debris on walks with the dogs on our woodland trails. It has a clam shell type of jaw mechanism with teeth. All metal and the two halves mesh together well. Enough to snatch even the smallest of snakes (without harm) from the rock gardens in our yard. I'm an average height guy with average length arms so I like that I don't have to bend over for any of this like I was with traditional pincher type grabbers. This is way more efficient too because when you're picking up a lot of items on trails while walking dogs it allows you time to see it, and grab it without stopping to do it. I hope the handle never breaks but if it does, I will attempt to repair it. It's a great value if you need to constantly pick up things while wearing a heavy backpack leaf blower without falling over.

Strong
I finally broke down and purchased this grabber after breaking many of the cheap, $10 and $15 plastic ones. The cheap grabbers that ship about a foot long and then you have to unfold and lock into place. After about four of those in a year, I realized I could have just purchased one of these. This grabber is definitely a massive improvement. It's all metal (except for the plastic handle) with very strong tongs on the bottom. They are much stronger than the other grabbers with a wider surface area and teeth. No rubber coatings here. I could easily pick up a can of soup with it without it slipping out of my grasp. My only complaints about it are I wish you could turn the head as you can on the other cheap grabbers. The head on this grabber is permanently stationary. That, and I wish the handle was bent instead of just being straight. But those minor issues aside, I foresee this one lasting much longer than any of my other grabbers so far. It's definitely an improved step up in strength and durability.

Love these grabbers! I use them to move logs about in the fireplace and to pick up windfall in my yard and garden. They even work for light weeding in and amongst the flowers.

This is a good quality grabber. I am six foot five, have worked hard labor all my life, am getting older, and drop things more than I like nowadays. With the ground so far below my arms reach this grabber is a knee and back saver keeping me from having to make the trip down to get things by hand, then wonder if I'm gonna be able to make it back upright again. I like this grabber because it has the full metal claw and the long length. The claw teeth are a good shape and strong. Even with the extra length of the shaft this grabber has enough strength that I have used it for grabbing several items that far exceeded the grabbers intended use and it did not warp, bend, or break. The claw's teeth were not affected. The claw grip strength is decent, though lighter than other claws that have 90° fingers. It will let things slip when being aggressive with it, but with the right squeeze and some technique I have managed to do a lot of heavy work with various successes. I chose this grabber specifically because of the metal claw so I could sterilize it with all types of chemicals and steam treatments. I have used open flames on it several times. The first time I expected it might not survive as I do not know what the inner linkage between the handle and claw is made of, but it didn't melt or lose strength in the flames. I have used this grabber to pry and scrape frozen dog doo out of the ice in the yard, grab burning embers and logs in the campfire, pull large objects like bags, tools, and water jugs from the far end of the back of my truck, feed ratchet straps under or through a load on my trailer, used it to assist my balance by grabbing shrubs and tree branches while climbing up steeper sections of hiking trails, picked up large rocks, rescue a dropped cell phone out of the lake, and in many other rough use ways. It still looks essentially brand new. Of course the technique of how I have used it is a large part of why I have not destroyed this grabber yet. Nonetheless, I must give ample credit to the quality of the grabber itself for its part through it all. I have used numerous grabbers of all brands, designs, and materials. This grabber is certainly in the upper class, if not in first place for overall quality, utility, and durability. I am very pleased with it and feel I have gotten more value out of it by far than the cost put into getting it.
