The shells that came with that were broken.

Its a good product for those who want to relive their old memories. The board is wooden and plain without much polishing simple design and without much craftsmanship on wood other than the fish design and the bare essential. The holes have a rough patch,not really smooth,but wont hamper the game. Good feel of the shells, but the plastic box containing them was broken when I recieved. Dayakkattai has a nice design and is very convenient to use. But many types of games dont require dayakkatai as such. Seller can include a pamphlet on how to play,so as to popularise this age - old game. All in all a good attempt to promote a classic,forgotten board game.

the board is made from cheap quality timber, with shallow depressions. Wasn’t polished or sanded. The conch shells n dayakatti given are acceptable

The wood is unpolished and untreated. It had splinters on it, clearly not suitable to play. Worst part is It has wood lice crawling on it. The shells provided were super thin and many were already damaged. There were only 100 pieces., whereas the game of 7 in a “guLi” requires 140 pieces. Also the size of the “GuLi” needs to be bigger to accommodate larger piles of shells through the game. All in all, it’s unfit to play ALguLimane

Shell box is crap absolute crap. I received a broken piece and why not, that cheap plastic quality box (which is used mostly to serve desserts like gulabjamun, double-ka-meetha) in parties should be replaced with a cloth pouch instead or use some quality box. 1* to this crap And the board itself is a product of lazy work. No finishing work done. This wooden craft is just cut in the fish shape without finishing or polishing. The holes are not carved in a bowl shape. Looks like just punched a hole that makes harding to lift shells from it. 3* for this wooden craft/board. Only good quality piece in this set I got is is the metal Pachikalu. 5* to only this one. Make sure you open the package carefully, most probably you receive the shells in plastic box brocken and the minute I opened I almost lost 5 shells cameout of the packaging. Overall 2.5*

The quality was good. But if they apply varnish polish on the wood it would be really super.
