This fan clutch, although it looks almost identical to a genuine Hayden 2771 fan clutch, does not operate the same. This fan clutch is pictured on the left, and a genuine Hayden 2771 is on the right. This Made in China clone, once your engine reaches operating temperature, locks up and remains locked up for the remainder of the drive. It doesn't matter if you are sitting or doing 70MPH on the interstate, this unit will make your vehicle sound like a Mack truck and rob your fuel mileage. While the price may seem tempting, you'd be better off buying the Genuine Hayden product. Will be returning.UPDATE: I have chosen to keep this fan clutch and test my theory of the engagement temperature being wrong. I had an older Hayden fan clutch for a Durango 4.7 (which does not fit anything I have), and I salvaged the bimetallic coil off the front. I have managed to change out the coil on this fan clutch for the one from the Hayden, and... IT NOW WORKS LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO! In 95 degree heat, with the air on, the fan now locks and unlocks as I am stopping and going. Coolant temp stays right around 210 on the gauge.This is installed on a 96 Grand Cherokee 5.2. The Amazon parts checker will tell you this is the wrong one, but the 93-98 Grands with the 5.2 came with a Delco heavy-duty unit from the factory, and the 2771 is the equivalent of that. The parts checker will tell you you need the 2791, which is severe-duty and too much for the 5-blade fans on these Jeeps. I am actually running a fan blade off a Jeep Liberty, which is the equivalent to a rare alternate OE fan installed on 1998 Grand Cherokee CA models with the 5.2, Much quieter and cools better.All the manufacturer of this fan clutch needed to do was choose the correct engagement temperature, and this would have been a decent fan clutch. Leaving my rating as-is based off of the out-of-box experience.

I installed on my 04 Jeep Wrangler 4.0.The past couple of days I've noticed that the jeep is running warm again and I can no longer hear the fan engaging. Very disappointed. Don't waste your money on this junk.The short warranty shows that the company knows it's junk.I would not even give it one star.
