I wish I would have purchased one of these three years ago. We moved and built a brand new home close to our home town. From the beginning of moving in, we had issues with flies in the area. Every time I would cook something on the grill the flies would come around. When I would open the back door several would come into the house. I saw the advertisement of the magnetic screen doors on TV and decided to purchase one at Bed Bath and Beyond. When I installed it I realized that it was way too big for my back door so I started looking on Amazon. This particular brand had great reviews and it had various sizes and colors to choose from. I was sold and purchased one. It was a few days before Memorial Day when I purchased it and hoping it would come because I would be grilling on that Monday off. I came in in only one day thanks to Amazon's excellent service. I unpacked everything and notice one feature that the advertised TV version didn't have. This version had Velcro for installing all around the entire door. The TV version had you install Velcro in only certain areas. Installation was a breeze. The Velcro installation around the door frame took me about 10 minutes. When I put the magnetic screen on the Velcro I noticed that the length of the screen was about 1 inch to long. I ended up folding the bottom and stapling it, but later discovered that you could fold it from the top of screen. The magnets in the opening did not close all of the way. By loosing up the sides made a better fit. It did take about 3 weeks for the screen to close properly with no open areas around the magnets. At time I used to the push pins that came with to permanently secure it to my door frame. I received several tips from the company after the purchase and one was to use a hair dryer to get all of the creases out of the screen where it was folded. I decided to just let nature take its course. The screen works perfectly! Very well made, stronger than the TV version. I've grilled several times and not once did any flies come into my home when opening the back door. I did have a few other questions about the product and the company responded very quickly when I contacted them. This magnetic screen door is very well made and would highly recommend it! This is a very good screen! I like it much better than the "as seen on TV" one I had last year. I used the pushpins to mount it, as my landlord doesn't allow adhesives on painted surfaces. It was very stiffly creased by the packaging, and I thought it would be a pain to hang. No, just used the pushpins to secure the thing, and revisited about an hour later. Adjusted it, and it was all good. Then I decided that it would look better if the edge of the screen abutted the beading in the door jamb, instead of covering it. So I moved it inward about 1/2" on both sides. I pinched up the excess and hammered it down with a pin. It hung nicely and closed all the way down. Then, there was an aggravation... I had the front door closed while I was hanging the screen. (Because the screen wasn't there yet, and winged critters all over because Spring!) Job done, I wanted back in, of course. The doorknob was so close, yet so far away.... I had my tack hammer, a watering can, and a kitten on one arm. I tried to pry my fingers between the magnetic no-gap closure. Not happening... strong magnets...no gaps. I pressed harder, and the screen stuck to my metal front door, and I chased the *unopened* magnets around for awhile before finally dropping my armload and grasping both sides of the screen material to open it. I was wishing for a tab of some kind, to pull it open from the outside. It was almost a deal-breaker, that. But, I had an idea to put tie-backs up, threaded from outside-in, so I could have the curtains open when I left the house. Problem solved. :) Overall, I am very pleased with this screen,. I love that it really does close all the way down without gaps. It takes quite a stiff wind to blow it open, unlike what I had before. It would rather close to itself after said wind, than stick to my metal front door... bonus! I love that you can order the size you need. That all said, I think a little pull-tab or two on the magnetic edges so you can get back into your house would be helpful. Otherwise, easy to make tie-backs or some such for yourself and enjoy.

The screen is great quality and I'm very pleased with my purchase. BUT: did not come with instructions on where all the pieces went. The door velcro stripping was 12 inchs short, but solved that issue with some stainless steel staples. Only use SS staples, you don't want a ugly rust issue on your pretty screen. I figured it out on the tie back strips, I put them in the middle. But I ended up with a roll of wide velcro that I have no idea where it goes. May have been added because the door frame velcro came up short. Make sure you don't pull the screen to tight along the vertical part of the screen while attaching to the door frame. It will cause a issue on self closing. Even though the screen has minor issues. I really love the quality of the screen. Just a instruction paper would have been nice to identify all the pieces. But really it's very easy to install. I used my industrial staple gun with stainless steel staples to reinforce the velcro and nails. It does come with a ample supply of nice attachment nails with plastic covers on the nails. Don't let the minor issues deture you from this purchase. I did my home work and you won't find a better magnetic screen out there. It's only little minor issues and I'm sure the cheaper ones would have alot more issues. I like the color options. I gave it 4 stars because I feel if they had a parts sheet describing the location to install all the items, it would have been a 5 star purchase. And I don't do many reviews. You will be very pleased with this purchase. Again it's a top quality product.

Worked really well on my metal framed apartment balcony sliding door. Two things I wish were improved: 1. There aren't any magnets at the bottom edge, so it's always open a crack and 2. There's no way of pulling the split open, when I'm outside I need to poke my finger through the magnets to pull the screen open.

Great for campervan side doors! My campervan has standard opening side doors (not sliding). I hate having bugs in my van so I kept the doors closed all the time. I wanted to install a screen door that did not require damaging the interior of the van and would allow both doors to be open and not interfere with the door latches. I used the push pins to attach the velcro to the interior upholstered walls at the top and the side beside the passenger seat and used the self-adhesive velcro to attach the other side to the back of the sink cabinet. Then I cut a piece of other screen to close in the section behind the sink. The instructions include a link to a You-Tube video that shows how to narrow / shorted the door without cutting the screen. The door is not very high so the opening is a bit narrow -- which is ok for daily use. I cut the top binding of the door so I can pull the top of the screen from the velcro and fold it back for the times when I am loading/unloading large items. The door closure works well -- the magnets are strong and aren't affected by the metal door frame. I really enjoy prepping food in my camper now and the air circulation is much better. Going in and out of my camper is a lot quieter now as I don't have to keep opening and slamming the door! The screen material is strong so I expect it will last a long time. Well worth the money!

I've bought many fly nets for doors,which get destroyed by my Mastweiller.Found this one,I did think another weak net.It arrived,opened it up and noticed how stronger than the others,installed it with easy to follow instructions via website.Its been up longer than the others(a week)and my dog hasn't damaged it by running through it plus the magnet joint is strong and covered with no gaps for bugs to squeeze in.Perfect,strong and easy to fit.
