They’re great boots!
Got them for a trip to lassen national park and did what most say is a mistake which is breaking them in on the trail. And honestly it was not a mistake they were comfortable from the start. Hiked 18 miles that day which was exhausting but my feet were not a problem. Only issue I have with them is the laces coming undone all the time, you have to double knot. But it’s a great boot for daily wear I prefer them over my Nikes honestly. So far very durable waterproofing is great. 6 months in I have no complaints. I had also ordered the Merell MOAB 2’s which are supposed to be great too but I kept the timberlands just based on the looks, and I have no regrets.

They fit correctly straight from the box, they break in quickly, they become quite comfortable and they wear well over time.
This was a replacement for a pair I wore out, so I already knew my size. It was nice to find that sizes haven't drifted though, as they often do these days when brands move the manufacturing around. I used my last pair almost daily for 4 years before I finally wore through the bottom of the soles. The uppers had never separated in all that time and I'm pretty rough on shoes because I tend to torque around on my feet when walking. Pretty sturdy.I use these as casual shoes, mostly wearing them out and about and in the office. I wear these almost daily, so I put a lot of miles on my previous pair. For true hiking I would get a dedicated hiking boot. These work fine for day hikes and so on, but I regard them as a casual shoe. I don't really use these as work boots either because proper work boots are a better choice for that, but they can take a little of that without complaint. These are water resistant for puddle traversal, but that's about it. Don't stand in it. They aren't barn boots. If I like something I stick with it. I was satisfied with my previous pair of these, so when replacement time came, I simply bought another pair!

Broke the Timberland Boots in on a trip to Chicago
I don't usually write raving reviews but I am very happy with these Timberland Chocurua Trail GTX Gortex boots. I purchased them to wear on a trip to Chicago in the winter. They were comfortable out of the box and broke in fully in about a day. I wore them with thin ski socks on the trip and found the boots to be warm and comfortable in about 25F degree weather. It didn't get any colder than that but I think the boots would have been warm even if it were somewhat colder. These boots are true to size and basically fit snugly so if you have wide feet or want to use very thick wool socks you will probably want to go with the wider 4E size or go a half size larger than your normal shoe size. I didn't walk through any snow, deep water or rain so I can't comment on the waterproof aspect. I wore a relatively thin ski sock and that was perfect for the regular M size. On the trip I walked an average of 12,000 steps a day through airports, train stations and all day at a trade show without any foot fatigue. I bought the Chocurua Gortex instead of the Timberland White Ledge because I live in Florida The Gortex boots are lighter and breathe better and I felt I would get more use out of them in warm weather than I would of the all leather design of the White Ledge. Good arch support on these. I actually find this Timberland more comfortable than my Ecco Track II Gortex boots that cost twice as much because the arch support is better in the Timberland. I may buy another pair of these Timberland's to have in reserve.

Great boot! Love, love,love them!
Admittedly I am tough to fit and very demanding when it comes to hiking boots. My Vasque Zephyr Tech GTX's from 1999 are still one of my favorites as are my Teknicas from before that! However, things do wear out and I've spent the past 2 months ordering and returning 4 pair of boots before finding these gems! The fit is terrific right out of the box and I was able to wear them without discomfort an entire day. I've worn them for prolonged periods since and have been thrilled with them. Build quality is very good with seams matching, no visible gaps where uppers join the soles and waterproof claims appear to be good judging from the large puddles I stepped through. These fit as expected with a roomy toe box, comfortable tongue and great ankle support without being too binding.I will give these another mont or so of hard workout before buying a second pair to keep in reserve.

4/5
I've been wearing these a couple months now, and I'm fairly sure they will hold up well. They seem well constructed and comfortable, and they look nice. The sizing was accurate for me (10 regular) with a little wiggle room in the toes. There are however, a few cons. There is no arch support -or really any support. The "insole" they come with is basically a strip of felt that feels like you're walking barefoot on a hard surface. For the price of these boots, they could have thrown something better in there. Also, while advertised as having a thick sole and heel, I really don't notice much. Maybe it's because the work boots I wear are so much more substantial, but these hikers feel like the sole is about the same as any off-the-shelf no-brand hiking boot. Those are the cons, which I think are minimal in an otherwise good product. 4/5 stars.

Solid casual-wear and outdoors boot ...
These are pretty good boots; actually re-ordering because I've worn out 2 previous pairs. Great for outdoors use in dry to slightly wet conditions. Probably not what you want if you're out in wilderness under heavy rain conditions, as these will take awhile to dry out again once saturated. I usually get 2-3 years out of these with heavy use; when they do eventually fail, they usually tear out on the sides near ball of your foot, but by then the tread is usually wore smooth anyways, so its time.PROSAppearance; lightweight; breathable; easy to lace up and tie (2 hooks each side); run true-to-size.CONSYou'll need to treat the leather portions every now and then to keep them soft and add water repellent properties (Mink Oil Leather Waterproof Paste; available on Amazon); also, they're not steel-toed, so if you need that kind of protection, you'll need to look for other boots.
