Top Notch Pen for the $
I have purchased several of these Pilot Metropolitan pens with medium nibs after trying just one. I had the one pen for a few months before dropping it and damaging the nib. I immediately ordered several replacements as I like them so much. I have them in plain style (matte black or silver body), a few of the animal print / retro pop line and a couple of others with various prints on the body. I like them all equally and have each set up with a different ink type/color. The quality and writing experience is MUCH nicer than I expected from a fountain pen in this price range. I carry these pens daily as my workhorse pens. I keep them protected in my DIY pen sleeve so the metal bodies don't get all scratched up in my bag. Price is such that you may not mind loaning it out to a non-FP user or carrying it daily. It is pleasing to have a sweet pen that you can actually use often without being nervous that you are going to somehow damage or lose it. The pen has a nice weight and balance to it and the cap posts well on the back of the body when in use. Without the cap posted, the pen feels just as nice and still well balanced. The step down from the body to the feed-holder doesn't bother me due to the way I hold my pens. I like that the cap snaps on rather than screws on. It is satisfying to hear it click closed. Pen comes with a "cleaning" squeeze/bladder type converter which is comparable to the proprietary Pilot Con20 converter of the same kind. This works just as well as the disposable ink cartridges, IMHO. You can find videos on YouTube on how to get a proper converter-fill if you are new to this experience and want to try bottled inks. I have not experienced leaking with the pen itself from the carriage. There is a bit of nib creep present when using particularly wet, runny or "creepy" bottled inks (example: Noodlers Baystate Blue) but it is not an issue for me personally. I actually like the look of the ink on the nib. The medium nib is not scratchy in my experience when writing. This specific "Retro Pop" pen in teal is so lovely. Color in person is true to what is displayed in the ad here. Fun.... and easy to spot your pen from across the room. The band design is nice and clean and adds a nice little flare. All in all, if you are new to fountain pens, are a collector or are simply interested in trying out fountain pens of a lower price range, I HIGHLY recommend the Pilot Metropolitan line. I don't think you would be disappointed. Alternately, these would make lovely gifts. Hope you enjoy your fountain pen experience!

Better than Lamy Safari for Urban Sketching
This is my third Pilot Metropolitan pen. The metal body and shape feels good in my hand. They write more smoothly and are easier to take apart and clean than my Lamy Safari pens. They are also less expensive. I use the medium nib which is similar to a Lamy Fine nib. The Pilot Con-40 converter (purchased separately) is hard to fill, but I solved that by using a blunt tip syringe to fill the converter. I highly recommend this pen to first-time fountain pen buyers. It’s ok
This fountain pen is okay as a starter pen or one to loan. It’s beautiful turquoise color, and the size and weight are very comfortable in my hand. My only complaint is the terrible converter that came with it. Apparently you squeeze the converter to fill. I have my doubts, and opted to remove it and use the cartridge that came with the pen.

Good quality pen for good value
Beautiful looking pen, writes well out of the box! The color is even better than in the pictures. There were some scratches on the pen where the metal underneath could be seen, but I was able to return it for a replacement quickly without a problem. No issues with the second pen. Both pens came with converters and ink cartridges. I'd highly recommend this pen to anyone interested in fountain pens.

Great fountain pen for a newbie or experienced user.
Great looking pen, easy to ink and get writing. Love the color & size of the pen and is easy to hold and write with. Planning on buying another one. Great first fountain pen. Good price point for the quality! I bought Pilot Namiki IC100 Fountain Pen Ink Cartridge, Black, 12 count, here on Amazon, to use instead of the manual inking bladder. So you can do either!

I love this pen, attractive and writes beautifully
I love this pen. I learned how to write script as a kid with a fountain pen. We were graded on our penmanship, and this brings back memories of that and feels great in my hand. It enables me to write with beautiful penmanship.

Great pen, but tip breaks too easily.
Really good pen. The only issue is that it's fragile. The tip seems to break too easily, and it's way to expensive for that to happen. Overall, disappointing. Mainly disappointing that this happened outside the return window.

Great pen with one flaw - the "squeeze converter" is ...
Great pen with one flaw - the "squeeze converter" is surrounded by a metal loop which makes it nearly impossible to squeeze, thus the amount of ink that gets into the converter is very small. Other than that, the pen writes well, and is a very good tool for a beginner.
