Feature-packed and fun to use!
The Garmin Instinct is a feature-packed watch with a huge assortment of menus that take a while to learn, but ultimately it’s a well-designed piece of tech that’s fun to use.I like how the screen and the features are very customizable. I like that various functions can be made easy to access via “hot keys.”It’s not inexpensive, so I do recommend getting some of those circular screen protectors that you’ll see advertised on Amazon along with the watch. I got a pack that had two screen protectors and a set of silicone plugs to cover the charging port on the back of the watch. If you don’t cover that port, you’re sure to accumulate gunk in there.I know that the watch is solar recharging, but I would like it if the watch face had an indicator of when it was receiving enough light to be charging. It does not. Also, it seems to charge slower than the drain on the battery from normal usage. That might be unavoidable. I know from experience with solar Casio watches that they charge very slowly. Perhaps if you need to charge your Instinct, it’s best to put it into battery saver mode first and leave it alone in a well-lit area.

Garmin watch exactly what I wanted.
Been wanting one to replace my other Garmin workout watch. Love the design and function. Only slight issue as wrist band tends to cause slight rash if worn too long. Need to take it off for short periods of time to combat this.

Great watch
Just got it. But it is living up to the 5 star rating so far.

Watch is great Earbuds are trash
Do NOT pair the earbuds with your order. These earbuds are the worst I have ever had. They constantly cut out, they do not sync well (the drum beat from music will not hit simultaneously. It is absolutely infuriating to have them constantly cutting out. That being said. The watch is everything it advertises. Works very well. Navigation is spot on. 5 Star on watch. 1 Star on earbuds.

battery is bad
honestly it might just be the watch i got but the battery on it sucks. I went to bed one night, put it on sleep mode fully charged and woke up to it having only 30 days left. now in low power mode it saves on battery, i’m not to sure what the max is anymore but right now i believe it’s 58. so it went down 28 days in one night. that’s not good and i’m not happy about my purchase anymore

This is nowhere close to being a true solar watch.
Although this watch has many valuable features, it does not run anywhere close to completely on solar power, as do solar watches from other manfacturers such as Casio. When I called Garmin Tech Support, they said that the solar charging features of this watch are only capable of extending the roughly 12 day battery life by about 10% under ideal conditions, after being completely charged through a wall socket with the charging cable. Those ideal conditions to achieve that 10% improvement are when the watch is worn extensively outdoors in direct sunlight in short sleeved shirts. The solar charging capability of the watch under florescent lights is substantially less impressive (close to none). Garmin tech support attributed this watch's poor solar charging performance to its features that other "solar watches" don't have, such as GPS-based functions related to being a miliary parachute jump master. Those features are valuable as long as none of your missions take you to places where you're away from a wall socket (where you can use the charging cable) for more than 7-10 days. I'm keeping the watch because of those features, but anyone else who buys it do so knowing that it does not run anywhere close to completely for extended periods on solar power. These limitations were not included in the advertising that I saw on the Amazon or Garmin websites before I bought the watch. I just expected more for the price.
