Absolutely Useless, cut's clesn through with ease!
If I could rate this less than one star I would!First use today and was cut clean through. Thankfully I also had a abus 540 which saved my bike! A lot of plastic and not kuch braided steel.Stay well away from this bike lock unless you plan on sitting with your buke to guard it!

Good sturdy cable
Ideal for locking and securing bikes to a fixed object. Weather resistant coating resists corrosion which would weaken the integrity of the cable. recommended purchase.

Solid security cable, but very heavy for a cyclist to be carry around too much
This a great self-coiling security cable that should put off all the but the most prepared bicycle thieves. It doesn't come with a lock, but I have used it using a small D-lock. It's large enough to go through my wheels and my bicycle frame. I am likely to use it when I am just going to the shops, as opposed to long cycle rides, just because of the weight. It is reassuringly heavy (e.g. cable cutters will not get through this easily), but too heavy to be carrying around all day. It will be interesting to see how long the self-coiling lasts, as I have had similar cables before, then get kinked very easily. I'll update if kinks become an issue, but in the meantime, I highly recommend this cable.

Very good but light enough to carry around with you to secure your bike on short journeys
This is an excellent cable. This is 7 foot long and half an inch thick steel it’s covered in plastic so not scratch your bike. The openings where the padlock goes are really wide so you’re not going to struggle to get this on an off in a hurry. This is used on my sons motorbike, and he used to use a big chain with the fabric covering but this is much better as it’s easier not to have this bashing against your skin as you’re putting it on , it’s less noisy, clunky and lighter. Obviously as it’s just half an inch think it’s not going to act as a super high security device but it’s an excellent deterrent that you can just put in your backpack and take with you when you’re going out need to tie your bike up for a short period .I like that it’s light enough to carry with you without any problems. This would also be good for tying up ladders, As it’s very light and flexible.Hoping this is also weatherproof As it will spend most of its life outside.Overall very pleased, my son has decided to get another one.

Awesome value for money, asset protection you can afford
This is a bargain if you want to keep your bike as safe as possible, at under £10 plus the cost of a decent lock I dont think you could get better value for money. I much prefer this type rather than a chain because even if a chain is covered in fabric it is still quite likely going to damage your pride and joy if you are not super careful with it all the time. If like me you can have the odd clumsy moment, this 7ft (2.2m) long plastic coated steel braided chain will never let you down. In order to secure your bike from an opportunist you dont have to have the biggest heaviest or baddest looking lock, you simply need a visible lock and your average opportunist will simply move onto the next easier to steal bike. If someone really wants to take it they will have it, whatever lock is on it.That said this type is very very hard to hack saw and a bolt cropper doesn’t fare much better.I have given this a wholehearted 5 stars for being well made and great value for money.

Not what it appears to be
I think people deserve to know exactly what they are buying. This product would seem to be better value than other similarly priced security cables, but it only seems that way. One would be excused for thinking you are buying a 12mm thick steel flex cable, but the truth is that the steel cable is only 5mm thick. the other 7mm is the protective sleeve. This might deceive and repel the average bike thief who might be dumb enough to be fooled by the thick sleeve, but I would not use this as my main security with any bike worth more than £100. Any bolt cutter would make easy work of 5mm braided steel cable. I would only use this with a good padlock to secure the wheel to the bike frame and I would use a proper bike lock to secure the frame to the railing, or bike rack. The price point is about right for what I would use this for. Know what you are buying and reduce the risk of disappointment.

Not a waterproof design. A lock is as strong as it's weakest link springs to mind.
This is a poorly designed cable. It might work in a dry setting but even in the shed in winter it gets damp and most people using a lock expect to use it in rainy conditions such as for locking a bike. The boots that surround each loops end are very open. I pulled one back to see what was holding the loop together and it's a metal clamp which is not in any way sealed therefore from the elements.I'd have concerns about such a cables longevity and I cannot recommend it.It's a thick cable, so much so it won't work with some medium padlocks even due to the thick plastic ironically on the cable. So over protected there but not on the very thing that if became undone would mean no longer locked even with closed padlock once the hoop is open it's undone from that
