Pristine...expensive, but worth the investment!!!
This is honestly the first time I have even written a review on Amazon, but I was so impressed by these earbuds that I felt it was worth sharing my experience.I was hesitant to shell out this kind of money on a pair of earbuds, having always assumed you could never truly have reference-quality sound from such a small device, and always settling for a ~$50 pair (I had the Klipsch S4i before these). However, having read other reviews, I decided I would give them a try. I am a musician and listen to a lot of music, so this gave me a good chance to see what all the hype was about.Right at first listen, I was blown away. I started hearing things I'd never heard before in recordings I have listened to for years on countless other pairs of headphones, speakers, etc. What truly is amazing about these headphones is not just the overall balance of sound, but the subtleties of the sound you don't even pay attention to. You start hearing the nuances of the air coming out of a bass drum kick, the snap of the snare, the trail-off of a cymbal crash, the metallic scratching of a guitar pick striking the strings, the wide variation of the same instrument being played softly or loudly (especially an acoustic guitar), the whispers of breath in between vocals, the ambience of the room, etc., etc. It's as if you are sitting in the studio or are at the show. I could go on and on, but simply put, this makes listening to music so much fun.Another pleasant surprise I found with these earbuds was how well they fit. Once you get the right size earpiece (and it comes with many choices), you do not even notice you are wearing earbuds. They are so light that they practically float. Every other pair of earbuds I have worn has always had "weight" to them and end up making my ears sore after prolonged use.Lastly, due to their great fit, they block out practically ALL environmental noise. I have never used noise-cancelling headphones, but I cannot imagine they could block as much noise as these. That being said, I would NOT recommend these if you need to hear SOME ambient noise (traffic, boss, children, wife...). You will be in a world of your own with these cranked. The remote works very well too. I use it mostly for volume control and making phone calls, but it can also skip, pause, or rewind tracks. The only thing that may bother some people is the cord noise if you are walking while using. It can be a bit loud if the cord is rubbing/bouncing against a jacket or thick shirt. The best solution I have found is to use the included clip and attach to your collar with some slack in the upper cord. For the most part, that solves the problem. If you are on the fence...I would say look no further.

Very comfortable, great sound, but not the greatest sound for the price
These are definitely high-quality in-ear headphones, but they just didn't have the clarity I was looking for at this price level ($279 when I bought them).COMFORT: The comfort of these headphones stands out above everything else. They are extremely lightweight and the oval tips makes them pop right into place with a great seal without any adjustment necessary. After wearing these all day at an office job, I still couldn't feel them and didn't have any discomfort. They really nailed the form.SOUND: I had heard these were a bit mid-hot, which is actually why I picked them up. As an ekit drummer, I really like to hear the toms and snare brought out of the mix, and these definitely do that. Other headphones tend to have V-shaped levels, to the point where those drums sound like they're further back in the soundstage than they should be placed. The level on these is definitely a bit high on the mids, but the bass doesn't fall far behind and it's pretty impressive how low these things get without degrading the sound. The problem I have is that they make my drums sound bright and they lost a bit of clarity that I'm used to hearing with reference headphones and with my other in-ear headphones. These headphones have the EQ levels I'm looking for, but in a back-to-back comparison to my RHA T20's (which are dual-driver and somehow cost less than these), the RHA wins on clarity alone. However, when I'm sitting at the office just listening to music, these sound great! (especially for EDM, but works well for jazz, rock, and pop hits too. Doesn't seem to do great with busy metal like progressive or metalcore). I think the problem is that these are premium single-driver headphones and there's got to be a limit to what you can get out of a single driver in this small of a form factor. You can definitely find dual-driver in-ear headphones that produce a little more clarity in the sound at the same price or cheaper. The added cost here is from how small and lightweight they've managed to make these (seriously impressive).BUILD QUALITY: They're so lightweight that it's hard to tell how these will hold up, but they do feel solid. Removing the tips is a lot easier than on many other in-ear headphones and the buds seem to be sturdy. The cable looks and feels like it will hold up longer than most headphone cables. It does have a serious problem transmitting sound when the cable touches ANYTHING. When it rubs against my shirt, I can hear it. When it rubs against the zipper of my jacket, it's annoyingly loud. Also, while the headphones come with a clip, they don't include a band that lets you adjust the split of the Left Right cable length. I like to tighten headphones up a bit to hold them against my head, but these don't have that option. Finally, the mic and volume control is pointless for me, so I wish Amazon would offer the version that doesn't include the in-line controls (although I can't really discredit this product for that reason).TLDR (In short): They're overall pretty solid headphones. They're built fine, they sound great, but there are some better options out there when going off of sound quality alone (that's not to say they sound bad by any means). The real value here is comfort and form factor. They're lightweight, look great, and feel great.
