Great addition, improves the gun tremendously
Absolute must have for my Judge Public Defender Poly. Having the extra length to get one more finger on the grips makes a huge difference in shooting comfort. Easy install, snug fit, very similar finish as the factory grips. If I ever were to get another judge, I wouldn’t even get it out of the box before I ordered a set of these for it.

Fills a big hand far better than the stock grips.
If you have big hands this is a good addition to your SP101. My hands are far too large to comfortably hold the revolver. This fits much better and has the right amount of grip texture.

this the best grip(s) that will help to tame the recoil of ...
Hands down, this is the best grip(s) that will help tame the recoil of the .357Magnum cartridge (when shooting a Ruger SP101). I love shooting .357 Magnum loads in various older and newer revolvers. However, it was not an enjoyable experience out of the Ruger SP101 with a 2.25" barrel (which I knew in this configuration; a short barrel and small-framed 5-shot DA/SA .357Magnum Revolver). Moreover, I didn't plan on regularly shooting .357Magnum out of my SP101 (largely a steady diet of .38SPL+P instead). But, I decided to try it out and the first time I shot .357Magnum out of my Ruger SP101 (with a 2.25" barrel) it was a painful experience to say the least. The heavy recoil (which I knew was coming with the factory Ruger Rubber grips with wood inserts) actually caused a cut on the inside top-web portion of my dominant shooting hand (I tend to grip high on the grip-frame for better control, etc. on a revolver). Needless to say, I didn't shoot another .357Magnum cartridge out of my SP101 (until I took a chance on these Pachmayr Diamond Pro grips). I was pleasantly surprised how it tamed .357Mag 158 gr loads while at a local shooting range. Don't get me wrong, NO grips will eradicate the recoil of the .357Magnum cartridge in this platform (Ruger SP101). However, what they do is make the recoil largely manageable and less painless to shoot; when now enjoying the stout .357Mag cartridge out of the Ruger SP101. I've now managed to successfully train with 125 gr, 135 gr, and 158 gr on bi-weekly outings at the range. I can comfortably shoot .357 mag loads on a regular basis for self-defense scenario/training (as well as .38SPL+P; a breeze walk in the park with the Diamond Pro Grips). Would you want to shoot 500 rounds in one outing at the range? No. But, 2-3 boxes of 50 (.357Mag) are no problem! These grips are that good; even bought a set for a Smith model 60-9 (in a similar configuration as the SP101). Will they win a beauty contest? No. :) But, these are for comfort and they will suit anyone looking to change the dynamics (training for all sorts of situations/cartridges) of your SP101. I've got nicer revolvers with fancy wood grips/and Tyler-T Grips that I'll enjoy on minimal outings. But, I can now comfortably carry a Ruger SP101 with stout .357Mag loads with a smile on face (they ain't for show, these are for comfort and managing recoil).

Grip
It fits amazing on my taurus and honestly feels amazing compared to the original grip, went on smoothly with no troubles at all, very comfortable, I definitely recommended this to others who want a full hand grip

Makes An Immediate Positive Improvement
Sometimes the little changes can make all the difference. I’d been using a polymer .410 revolver to clear a housing development of numerous Water Moccasins and ended up injuring my 75 year old right hand after it twisted with every shot. Adding this Pachmayr grip gave me a more accurate and comfortable fit and kept my hand from twisting on discharge. Small price. Big improvement!

Changes everything
Only negative about it... Just like the factory grip, one round fails to fully eject. Not a deal breaker in my book when you consider you go from a two finger grip, to a full three finger grip. If you have small to very small hands, this may not be the grip you are looking for. Keep looking. If ou have average to large hands, this grip will fill the hand and feel comfortable. Installation is about as straigh forward as it gets, be mindful of the fact that this grip is much longer than the factory grip and the tool needed to install the retaining screw needs to be long enough to reach. The screw is very short, fine threads, and captured by the rubber of the original grip. THIS GRIP DOES NOT COME WITH THE SCREW! You will have to use the original. Ensure you torque it properly and use a threadlocker, blue is recommended. Performance: reading ther reviews, I find it funny that people seem to think this will eliminate recoil. It will not. Simply put, you are firing a shotgun shell or a large caliber handgun round. If you are choosing this, then you should have some idea of what is in store. I own several cha!bered for the 45 Colt round and with cowboy loads, they are all sweethearts. With my loads, they tend to get obnoxious quick. This thing kicks with a standard 45 Colt load. Completely manageable, if you have experience. 410 defensive loads are just as bad. Again, these grips do NOT eliminate recoil. The larger grip spreads the forces in the hand. It made a world of difference in mine. Yes, it is a daily carry gun. Yes, I would recommend them to anyone that has the Public Defender, just for shootability sake. You are more likely to hit your target if you train with it. If it is painful or difficult to shoot, you will not train with it. This makes it much more pleasant to shoot.
