Melissa and Doug Light Catcher Scratch Art Sheets

LOVE this scratch art. I get lots of compliments on my projects- that I mostly use as gifts for friends or some occasion. I like the size of the "paper," as it's a nice change from the full size and I even cut this one smaller for my projects.

My daughter had fun making these, but when you put them in the window for display, they curl up when they are heated by the sun. She got so frustrated with them that she took them down :(

I like the concept of having rainbow colors peek through scratch boards, but it is quite messy and a little tedious. It takes quite a few scratches to really see the color pop through and could be frustrating for younger kids or anyone with a short attention span. The stylus/scratch pen they provide is quite short and small which works well for small hands but for anyone older, you could use any sharp hard object even a blunted pencil or crochet needle to use this product. I think this works best for kids at least 6 years old and up.

My 7 year old daughter loves scratch magic - these were extra fun since the light shines through, making a neat effect. Wish the kit came with more than four sheets.
