No more squeaky floors
We had squeaky floors for yours until I found this product which worked its magic so well. The instructions are well written and the ease with which you can remove the screw and not even find a trace about it on a carpeted floor is amazing.

It works great!! Easy fast solution so I can go on about my days
It works!! The screw head beaks off easy. No more squeaking noises! Idc what the other bad reviews says, this works and it works well. Try it, it’s so easy to use once you have the product in your hand. You’ll figure out what to do with in the first minute. No more squeaking! Fast easy solution. Yes I was hesitant on buying at first. But you will be very happy in the end! It’s kind of fun because you’ll want to look all over the house for a squeak haha

Squeak is gone!
This kit worked well. First I want to state that we used it on hard wood floors, not carpet. My first attempt was for a squeaky step. We put in three screws, one did not break easily, but the other two we had no issue. Using this kit along with some shims helped my step go from squeaky to quiet. (I needed the shims because we noticed a gap between the step and floor). After screwing in, applied some wood filler, sanded and all good to go. I can’t wait to try this on my floors. I have high hopes since it worked on my loud squeaky step!

One squeak removal tool to rule them all!
Picture this: Fran Drescher laughing, while she is scraping her fingers down a chalkboard, all while jumping up and down on a set of bagpipes. That is the squeak I have been living with for the past 10 years. The real annoying part was that it came and went depending on the temperature and humidity, so no one could reliably prepare for the sound that was going to be unleashed by stepping on my own little piece of hell on earth. I would have gladly traded spaces with that family in Poltergeist. Now, however, I will have to cancel my appointment with Ghost Hunters thanks to the exorcism I performed with SQUEEEEEK NO MORE. Although I suspected the supernatural, the real nature of the squeak was mechanical. It was caused by the subfloor rubbing against a metal air duct that runs between our first and second floors in my master bedroom. It was unavoidable. If I tried sneaking to bed after a night at the pub, the squeak would wake my wife and let her know exactly how late I was out. Six years ago we had the carpet replaced and at that time I used a gross of decking screws to secure the subfloor securely to the joists. I thought I beat the squeak. But as I mentioned, conditions changed, the relative humidity in the house caused the subfloor and joists to expand and contract, coupled with the warm air in the duct during the winter and the cool conditioned air in the summer and I got only a couple months respite and the squeak returned with unrelenting furor. With carpet covering the floor, I thought it was time to throw in the towel and just try living with the disembodied voice of Fran Drescher and her demonic bagpipes. Six more years of being jarred awake by the world's worst alarm clock, as my wife would get ready for work an hour before I needed to get up, I decided enough was enough. Mechanical squeaks are hard to fix, and it was then I realized I had been going at it all wrong. I wouldn't be able to fix this just by making sure the joists and subfloor were secured, I had to go right to the heart of the problem. I had to go at the duct work. With my last shred of sanity I scoured the interwebs for a solution that would allow me to get at the squeak without damaging the carpet. Then I found it -- SQUEEEEEK NO MORE. While this product is designed to rid the house of common squeaks, it made no bold claim that it could slay the mechanical archfiend living in between my joists, but for 20 dollars I was willing to try it. Like Jean Chastel's silver bullets, I figured it would be worth a shot. I received the product from Amazon and I took little time to size up the attack. I decided to try place three screws in the same area that subdued the squeak six years ago. As advertised, I was able to sink the screws in and snap them off without harming the carpet, but the squeak persisted. I was not discouraged, I knew there was little hope in that strategy. I then decided to change tactics and go dead center between the joists in the cavity that housed the dreaded duct and its Nazgul-esque wail. I chose the one screw for this task and placed it in the supplied tripod. With no joist to bind against, the screw abruptly passed through the subfloor, and in an instant the squeak was gone. The screw was pinned between the subfloor and the duct restricting the movement between the two parts. Somewhat perplexed, amazed, and fully relieved I stepped back and forth in what once would have been an unholy orchestra of groans and squeaks replaced now with blissful beautiful silence. The silence was only briefly broken as I victoriously snapped the head of the screw off with the tripod tool. On this day, I came as close to feeling what Isilder must have felt as he cut the One Ring from Sauron's hand. Like Isilder, I kept a well deserved war prize -- the head from the screw that silenced the chthonic wailing that I lived with for ten long years. Thank you SQUEEEEEK NO MORE. Thank you.

Problem solved, but not without some hardware failure
Adequate overall, the plastic tool works pretty well for snapping off the screws once they're in. However, the custom drill bit to control the depth is pretty low quality. The squared tip ground and rounded down after maybe a dozen or so screws.

I know how to use a drill and they still break all the time and VERY difficult to remove broken ones.
This I believe is the only one star review I've every given. About Me: I work with power tools, I building things, I built barns, 2x4 construction carpeting, hardwood floors, tile, roofing. Basically I know how to use a cordless drill is my point. About the product: I saw this on this old house and thought "oh what a great idea" and in principle it is. In reality its crap. The screws are an inferior quality and break easily even without the scoring. I screwed 5 into the floor studs and all 5 broke off just by screwing it in on the slowest speed and at a torque that wasn't even enough to drive it all the way down in the case of 3 of them. 5 screws here are the results 1. went in fine seemed to help a little with noise in that on spot. 2. broke off with 1/4" above carpet and it was a 15 minute nightmare getting it out and it left carpet damage. 3. went in fine but broke off on it own. 4. broke off with 1/4" above carpet and it was a 15 minute nightmare getting it out and it left carpet damage. 5. broke off with 1/2" above carpet and it was a 15 minute nightmare getting it out and it left carpet damage. Furthermore this one broke off below the scoring so it was clearly an inferior screw. I got a regular decking screw and screwed it into the same hole and two hole next to it just to test if the wood was really that hard... 1 decking screw was able to do this job 3 times without breaking. I don't know how I'm going to fix this noise but I'm probably going in the crawl space and shimming or just driving regular decking screws into the floor in critical locations. Even a regular decking nail has a lot more promise and a thousand times easier than this product. If You are worried about the 1/16" in or less the head will stick up just hammer it hard so it compresses the wood. Its really too bad because I HATE this floor noise but a product that is frustrating just isn't worth using. Bottom Line: Spending 1 hour screwing in 5 screws only to have 3 of them break and need to be pulled is not acceptable and this is either a terrible batch of screws I got or just an inferior product.

This product is great. It's a very clever (but simple) design and works as described. I read the reviews stating people wrecked their carpets, and that it's not for the UK. But I genuinely had no problems with it. Just make sure the screw tip is poked through the carpet pile to the carpet base / bed before screwing through. I suspect if you start with the tip above the pile, it will pull out some material, although this is fairly common sense. The spacers are perfect to ensure the screw breaks within the floorboard. And not above. Very clever and well recommended. Watch the YouTube video to get and idea before buying / starting work. I did my entire staircase which had very squeaky steps.

I have a finished basement so could not access the the upstairs floor without ripping down the ceiling drywall .. so any fix from underneath was ruled out. Talking with flooring professionals they are wanted to rip out the hardwood and put in engineered hardwood - for my house of 1300 sq feet that would be 17,000$ . this product worked wonders and has eliminated most of my squeaks in the main areas of concern - mostly hallways - heavily travelled areas. I recommend ordering the package with more screws as I ordered the one with 50 screws - that wasn't enough .. only enough for one long hallway - but I do know now that this product works so I will be ordering the 250 screw package to continue my de-squeaking of my maple hardwood floors 1958 vintage.

I had a squeaky subfloor in my walk in robe that drove me crazy for 4 years. After watching a few YouTube videos, I decided to buy Squeek no more. Note I also used my Ryobi stud finder to find the joist. One screw in and the squeak was gone. Yes the screw does break off cleanly in the joist and can't feel anything through carpet. No holes noticed in the carpet.
