It is perfectly delightful. The artist is clearly masterful. The book is thoughtfully composed, and beautiful. Being an absolute beginner myself, I appreciated the survey of equipment and techniques, BUT…I don’t feel this book set me up to start painting. I needed something more elementary… something that showed me step by step how to create a painting. I preferred another book by Mark Daniel Nelson “Learn to paint in acrylics in 50 small paintings”. In short, terrific book, but don’t feel compelled to buy it simply because everyone thinks it’s a must have :).

Nice Book, Not a Must Have
I bought this book based on the reviews, and multiple readers noting that it is a “must have”. I am annoyed. The book is small..like a children’s book. It is perfectly delightful.
