Great Cut, Less Clippings. Midway between OEM and Mulching blade. Direct replacement for 38" Simplicity deck. Highly Recommend.
(Same review as posted for two different sized blades, as found on my Simplicity mower.)My setup:Southeastern US.Simplicity 38" riding mower. Very old, chipped, rounded off and worn out blades.Standard suburban lawn of grass, clover and weeds. Mostly flat with a few roots and sticks here and there.Verdict:LOVE these blades. They are somewhere between a standard, OEM blade and a mulching blade. A standard blade has a cutting edge on the front and a lifting edge on the back. On these blades the lifting edge is sliced up into smaller cutting blades resulting in less lift, less distance of thrown, cut grass, and smaller pieces of cut grass.Even when it got thick and left a large row of clippings, I ran over the row twice and the clippings mostly disappeared. The difference in amount of grass laying on top on my lawn was quite noticeable. The cut quality was very good. I don't see what some people complained about. My lawn looks great after a cutting. Vastly better than with the worn out, chipped blades I replaced.Be aware that due to the decreased air flow/discharge (a good thing), these blades will not provide sufficient lift for use with a grass catcher. In closing:Highly recommend for mowing typical suburban lawn. Cuts grass into smaller clippings and reduces amount of grass laying on top on your lawn by a noticeable amount. I am just thrilled with them in every way.

Quality blades
They fit my Simplicity mower and work great. Have not had gator blades before and wanted them to help mulch leaves so I wouldn't have to rake. They work like I hoped they would.Shipped quick and price is good.

So far, really impressed
Bought this blade based on other reviews and it was a good decision. The blades are made much better than the OEM that I bought two years ago. The cut it good and the clippings do seem smaller. I am not using it in a mulching set up, but the quality of the cut is very noticeable. I anticipate them to last a while, but am curious how long they will hold an edge.

near exact fit, quiet operation
there were a few thousandth's of an inch of play around the arbor, but it did not seem to impact balancing. I've gotten Gator blades before for past tractors and this was consistent with past experience. Did not try it with the bagger yet.Update (12Aug2013): does not work well with bagger (Simplicity 38" lawn tractor deck). Does not seem to generate enough draft to blow up the chute sufficiently to handle anything but the lightest and dryest trimmings. very frustrating. But, if you are not using a bagger, this item is fine. removing one star, as this is not an 'in-kind' replacement part after all.

Wonderful
Got this for my dad's Lawn Boy Silver series mower. It works great. His old blade was wore to the point it had holes in it. This is a great blade.

Purchased to replace simplicity oem blades
I had bought these blades for my 1990's late model simplicity lth 12.5Specs:38" Deck With full rollersUsing side discharge method, no baffle or mulching kit.12.5 Hp VanguardHydrostatic transmissionPros:Fast ShippingHeavy Duty BladesMaintains Proper Blade SpeedMounts Perfectly for 38" simplicity deck.CheapCons:Too many grass blades left uncutDoesnt really "mulch"Doesnt create enough vacume to run bagger unless you have turbo attachmentIm pretty upset with the quality cut of these blades compared to my oem High lift bagger blades. The OEM blades are designed for my bagging system which create more vacume under the mower deck and end up producing a better cut than the Oregon Gator BladesA few things i can do with my deck to possibly make the cut better would be to install a mulching kit, but that would cost me around $200+If i would have known that the end results would have been this bad i would have purchased new oem blades (more expensive)Good Luck!

Improvement over high lift blades
Installed these blades on my simplicity regent 14 hydro. And the difference is very notable much better cut and less clippings laying on the lawn and on top of the mower deck it’s self. I did file them sharp before installing Because the cutting edge is not very good as is.
