Leatherman quality. Would recommend.
I was first introduced to Leatherman as a young boy, when my father handed their classic tool to me some years ago. Being a machinist, he was impressed with the construction of the small gadget, even the price point considering the quality. He left on a fishing trip to Kodiak, AK, taking the tool with him, putting it through its paces in Alaska for 4 weeks. He returned, with the tool intact, impressed with its ability to cut with ease and the practical application of almost all the tools in the field. Some years later, when I sought out the same toolmaker, Leatherman, for a tool of my own, I stumbled across this.It was unlike the other multi tools that they had made previously, and I was very skeptical about the sliding rails becoming jammed with dirt, and ceasing to open the pliers. Also, I thought the one handed action was a gimmick, until I used it, and saw how brilliant it is.Overall, its superb. The only criticism I have it with the length of the screwdrivers. All but the Phillips head are too short for reaching into places smaller than the width of the tool. The metal rails haven't jammed once, despite use in a desert climate (dropped it in sand), underwater, snow, ice, extreme heat (furnace, boiling water, engine components) seems to have little effect on the tool. With all of that being said though, the classic two-handed Leatherman might still be the way to go if you don't care for the one-handed opening. Only because the metal is stiffer, and it may potentially last a little longer.

Really Great , Best multitool in my eyes
Look may not have as many tools as other but for "Ease Of Use" is the BEST out of all of them, its design from the ground up to be used WITH ONE HAND - LEATHERMAN "One Hand Tool" - you just have to swing to bring out the pliers out , ALL the tools are accessible from the outside - you're always READY with this multi tool - its the only one i have found like it so yes for me THE BEST multi tool out for me . its perfect for rescue or maintenance ,UPDATE: 30/6/2015 . the TOOL is still going , but the Sheath Did not make it :(. i use it often in my job , has it over a year now , you can see the wear and tear of the tool and can see it is is starting tu tirn Silver in some places but all in all its still working for me , even the standard cutting knife is still pretty sharpCONS : well to be fair there aren't that many and they aint that BIG1)Knifes are smaller than on other multiTools2)Missing a Glass Breaker (only need to add a solid point somewhere, although you could use the pliers i guess, not recommend though)3)more screwdrivers - If possible ( maybe a interchangeable one like on the MUT)4)This only applies for some - NOT ME - Missing Scissors - Some like some don't - i personally hate scissors on multi tools they are always going to be too small to do anything and are all ways the first thing to breakPROS :DAM WHAT EVERY MULTI TOOL SHOULD BE (IN MY MIND) ALWAYS READY!!!!!! AND EASY TO USE , BE FAST AND EFFECTIVE - WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED (thats a personal question really and has a different answer for everyone)

You can never go wrong with a Leatherman
I always wanted a Leatherman with the original side-out design to add to my collection. It's everything I expected, good design, well built and the performs well. Everyone should have one of of these.

Wow, this is an impressive tool
Just received this so I have not actually used it yet. My first impression was "wow, this tool is well built, with tight tolerances, and extremely easy to access the blades." It certainly lives up to its name--One Handed Tool. I was not expecting the pliers to slide out like they do--I love that. I was expecting them to fold open like my Leatherman Micra. I also own an old Leatherman Kick which is fine but it can be a bit of a pain to pull out the blades. But not the OHT, every blade and tool opens easy and locks into place, plus they are all outside accessible. These are the 3 features that sold me on this tool over a couple of others.I did look closely at the MUT and I really liked some of the specialty firearm tools but I felt the tool was too busy. I wanted a simple HQ tool with the essential blades that have positive locks. The (black) OHT comes with the Large MOLLE Sheath in black and was packed it a box.

Is this a Leatherman?
For the price I don't believe this is on par with most Leatherman multi-tools. I own the Core and Wave both of which I would say are made of better materials. The casing on the OHT is weak. It has too much give and can be difficult to close attachments due to the flexibility. I'm not saying the tool would break but not a good design. Also the knives/saw appear smaller than on either of my other tools but I did not compare side to side. I'm OCD so if I'm wrong I'll change my review. I understand some compromises because of the quick opening of the pliers which works very well. Just a word of advice do not try to use two hands. If you squeeze on the handles too much it will make it difficult for the pliers to slide. Last negative I noted was an abundance of black residue/lube? I'm sure it will go away eventually but there was a lot.I was deciding between this and the SOG for myself and a gift. I'm okay with my choice but this tool kind of leaves me wondering if I the $20 cheaper or more, would have been at least as good? All said and done I would recommend this tool for someone to throw in a tackle box or would primarily use the pliers or if they have a need for the quick access of the pliers. The OHT is not bad but I just don't feel like I have a leatherman. I love my wave and the ability to change bits and the bit extender. The wave is my go to tool no way this could replace it. One plus for the OHT is I like the belt/thread cutter versus scissors.. But overall the one handed opening pliers is just a gimmick if you don't really need it. If you could change bits out like the wave I might tolerate the other flaws more?
