Magnesium Oxide has a much greater percentage of elemental magnesium in it than Magnesium glycinate or others. While it is TRUE that Magnesium glycinate, malate, citrate, and most all the others do absorb a lot better - the amount of ACTUAL magnesium you get in those supplements is going to be less and cost more even when you consider the fact they absorb at rates up to 80% compared to Magnesium-Oxide which is closer to 10-15%. There is much more actual magnesium with magnesium oxide and that more than makes up for the difference in absorption. Magnesium Glycinate for example is only like 15-20% elemental magnesium whereas Oxide is around 60%. You can fit a lot more magnesium oxide into a few pills you'll take and for much less. Just take MAGNESIUM OXIDE throughout the day with food to maximize absorption - but any way you cut it you'll actually get more from this magnesium oxide every time.

I love this brand for Vitamin C and the fact that they use clean ingredients, but this particular item did not help me with my constipation. I still buy their Vitmain C.
