We're not the usual consumer of this sort of thing.But it's PERFECT for our use.We're water sports enthusiasts and use polypropylene line for a myriad of things. It splices easily.If you have what's called a Fid, which is something, in the case of this sort of line, which you use to splice ropes and other lines.For our application, the points easily open the threads of the line, as a solid fid would do. But the key for us is that the hollow aluminum also allows us to insert the end of the line which will eventually be tucked into a part further up the line being spliced, and when it's finished, we just pull the fid off.So, I bought these to make two fids. One only a couple of inches long, and the other about half the length. The longer length allows more insertion per stroke so makes short work of a splice where we have the available length.They're perfect for that use for us.The rest of you probably will want to stick to your knitting ☺

There are better knitting needles on the market, sure - bamboo tends to be the best you can get. These, though? They're solid, lightweight, and are a surefire way to get you started on your path to being utterly obsessed with this hobby. These hold up well, and it takes a good deal of work to bend/otherwise warp them. They're worth the investment for getting started. You can always upgrade later.

I only hyperfixated on knitting for not even a full 48 hours but those two slightly frustrating afternoons full of learning was made pretty okay thanks to these.

Needles are smooth and light weight, making knitting faster and easier.

As I said before I am gonna use hook for a long time. The price is right also. It's lighter than I'm use to but I'll enjoy it. My fingers aren't as good as they use to be. So it's a win win for me.
