Excellent cod livers!
I’ve tried a number of cod liver brands now and this may well be my favorite. All have been good but this being my most recent, it is freshest in my mind. Whole livers and large pieces, good color and tasty oil and a long expiration date. Great flavor and tenderness and texture. Free delivery without having to order more stuff from Amazon and no danger of ruining other articles with a leak because it is shipped by the supplier direct and very well packaged at that! To top it all off, also the best price ( $12/3 tins ) Hard to beat. Just ordered more.

Tastes fresh and delicious!
There's not a big amount of the cod in the can, but that's okay because it is packed with Vitamin A and you have to make sure that you don't consume more than 1 can per week. Note: Vitamin A can be toxic if you eat too much - so you don't want to eat this more than 1x a week. I had never tried cod liver before. I LOVE this brand because it is packed in it's own juice/oil. I feel it's rather expensive - but all of the good brands are. I cannot find cod liver in any of the stores near me - so I had to order it.

Very tender, flavor reminiscent of shellfish
I've never had cod liver oil before, but I've heard about it since I was a kid. I like calves liver if it is well prepared, so I wanted to try this out. I found this to taste more like oyster than liver, but it is rather mild either way. It is -very- tender, there's no direct comparison, but its like a fatty fish without any grain or flake whatsoever. Delicious. I ate it straight from the can, without salt or anything. The oil goes great on Ritz or as a dipping oil for decent white bread, and is relatively healthy for you, but there isn't much left after you have the liver. It does have one of the fishiest scents I've smelled in a while, and it is potent - if you aren't going to consume the oil and instead intend to pour it in the sink, don't get any on the rubber part of the stopper, and flush out the trap, or everything will smell like fish for a couple days. My grandfather freezes it, then tosses it in the outside bin, so maybe try that instead. I recommend it. The FDA says only one can a week due to copper content, which is too bad, but its rich enough that once a week is probably enough.

Unique Flavor and Texture I Didn't Expect.
I bought this for the health benefits as I prefer consuming nutrient dense foods over pills. This was recommended by Dr. Berg on YouTube as one of the seven most healtiest foods you can eat. I was very surprised at how delicious this was and I'm not a fan of fishy tasting foods. It's not recommended by him to eat the whole can in one sitting because of the fat but for me it's hard to stop at half the can. It's also not recommended to eat this in front of your cat as they go nuts for it. Update: I wanted to try the competitor to this brand which was "iCan Icelandic Cod Liver" which is more expensive and has more reviews than the Riga Gold. Also, it's the one Dr. Berg shows in his YouTube video about cod liver. I bought the three can package as I did with the Riga Gold. Two of the iCan ones had blackish colored sections and the Riga had none. I tried a little of the blackish parts but they tasted overly fishy so I would assume they aren't as fresh as the Riga ones I bought which all looked nice and fresh. I ended up buying the Riga 12 pack. Only one of the cans was damaged but not to the point the contents weren't edible. Update: I ate all 12 of the Riga Gold cans I bought and not one of them had the blackish colored sections that the iCan ones did. I bought another 12 pack and this time there wasn't a damaged can. Update: 12/9/23 I finished that 12 pack and none of the cans had that blackish stuff the iCan had. So that's 27 cans without the blackish stuff.

Great and tasty, careful about Vitamin A toxicosis
Very tasty. Light and fluffier than you'd expect. Tremendous amount of Omega 3 EPA/DHA too. Only issue is also a tremendous amount of Vitamin A, so can only eat sparingly. Annoying they don't list how much vitamin A but cod liver oil has extremely high vitamin A in general.

Fishy Burps & Bad Taste
Doesn't taste good; very fishy burps and aftertaste. Didn't like the intolerable smell. Only good thing I found that it was less oil in container and more cod liver than the ICan Brand.
