You can see right through the perfectly clear glass! Makes brewing Kombucha that much more enjoyable!!! Serious upgrade!! I ordered another for wine making because that was the original plan haha. Have no words on the lid and seal it maintains because I’m just using a cloth cover here. I’ll review the next one and go from there. Might just use a strap to keep it in place. And carrying straps are a must! Order some! I can’t imaging my clumsy ass moving this bear hug style without breaking it eventually lol Update; first is still going great and I’m using a standard mouth carboy for secondary flavoring. A few weeks ago I received the second 6.5 gallon fermenter came and this time I’m using it for the real intended purpose and making wine with grapes from my own property. The lid never mattered on the first one because I need a cloth cover for kombucha. Pro tip here is to use Star San and a few straps to keep it down. Glass is slippery so naturally if you do a good thing and have a vigorous brew there is a lot of pressure. Early on I realized the lid would not stay and I read reviews that made me aware of the issue ahead of time. So I used some straps to hold it down. No problem 🤙 Only problem I have is I want more hahaha so many brews so little time

Love it, easy to clean. With the gasket in the original orientation the lid popped of during the first night of fermentation, but I messaged the seller and they said try turning the gasket upside down on the lid. Once I did that it worked great.

Great item for our kombucha.

I bought this to store my 28lb bag of dog food. It works very well and the mouth is wide enough to easily reach in to get the kibble. However, I did not realize when ordering that the lid has a 1" hole in the top, making it not airtight, meaning I will need to get a plug or seal it some other way. But it's very easy on the eyes, unlike the clunky plastic tubs and metal cans that I had been looking at. I was also concerned for the plastic and metal toxicity so glass was the next best choice. I'm not your average reviewer (using this item outside its purpose) but I would recommend this product.

The glass carboy is very nice, thick and study. should last forever if not dropped. The lid though, doesn't fit right. Had to tape it down (as others have suggested) to get a proper seal. They should have a screw down lid, and have the cork/airlock pop if overpressured.

Awesome product, no complaints. Also, lid worked great with no issues. Just be sure to install it dry.

I read all the reviews of this product before buying. And a very common complaint was the lid failing to provide an adequate seal. Sometimes I overlook certain complaints when I’m buying something because I am a very resourceful person and also because I feel that the reviewers aren’t using the product correctly or that their complaints are exaggerated. Well, when it comes to this product and the complaints of the lid not sealing properly, they are 100% accurate. If the one and only thing you are looking for is a vessel that allows you to clean it very easily compared to buying a carboy along with special chemicals and tools to clean it, then i highly recommend this product. BUT if a proper seal is also important to you (which it should be in almost all cases) then I promise you that YOU DO NOT WANT THIS product. It’s super convenient to be able to stick your arm inside this and easily clean it, and there are VERY FEW alternatives with wide mouths like this product, but don’t expect it to seal. I’m sure I can go through a lot of trouble and modifications to get it to seal, but who wants to do that? This may be the first review I have ever written. But I felt that it was important to let everyone know that you will never get this thing to seal in its current design. If you decide to take a chance and still buy it, good luck. You will need a lot more than luck to ever get this thing to seal correctly

This lid is not airtight. I resorted to packing tape around the top to seal the container. The fermentation vessel itself is great. The lid needs work.

Item arrived safely and in the the time frame that was given. Already in use and will be cleaning it very soon. This should be a lot easier than cleaning a regular carboy/demijohn as you can get your arm inside and get it cleaned up in no time. Thanks for the great service !
