Worth. Every. Penny. 5 stars is not enough.
For mass production of items that require cutting nylon webbing or rattail cord, this is a beautiful, magic machine. It's a compact unit that arrived - some minor assembly required - with all tools and eager to work. After putting in the super-sharp cutting blade, it was turned on, where a magical, warm glow greeted me. I used it to cut 1" nylon webbing, which it melted like it was barely there, leaving a clean, fused edge without an excessive amount of melted, sharp bits. Compared to the "cut everything, then fuse the edges on the stovetop" technique I was using, this is already a huge, magical improvement.

Very hot, cuts very efficiently
My old CMC cutter would barely cut some stiff 2" nylon webbing I recently got for my diving backplate. This one just sliced right through it.

An excellent much needed piece of equipment.
I needed the cutter to make comfort and safety items for daughter's wheelchair and lift - to cut nylon and polyester webbing straps. It is great and does the job!

Good nylon rope cutter
Members of my church cut ~2000 6' long ¼" ropes each year for making school back packs for Lutheran World Relief to distribute around the world as needed. About 15 years ago I made a fixture to make this a quick and easy process. In that time I had 2 other smaller units fail. This time I looked harder for hopefully a more reliable product. In the end, this is the one I chose and I think it was the right one for us. This is much heavier and has I believe a more rugged blade. This is the only one that has a variable setting for temperature control. Those that use it have told me it operates much faster. In the last month they have already gone through 750 cuts. There is one word of caution that want share and the reason I didn't give it a 5-Star rating. You may find that you will get a buzzing at some adjustments of the dial. To me I believe the transformer is around some resonance point which means the coils are trying to vibrate. This could have a big impact on the life of this product. Therefore, tell the operators not to leave it at a setting where this occurs. Either increase of decrease the setting.

This device has already saved me so much time on a major equipment modification project that I'd say it's paid for itself. Very good quality, works super easily, and produces an excellent sealed edge on nylon webbing, paracord, and hook-and-loop strips. It heats up quickly and is ready to use in minutes. I've already made a couple hundred cuts with it on this one project alone. One thought: definitely use it in a well-ventilated area, as cutting the materials mentioned above will certainly produce some hot off-gases as it essentially vaporizes the material.

This worked great for cutting 1 1/2" pro-manila rope for a rope fence we built.
