Athlon Optics Argos BTR GEN2 1-8x24 Riflescope - ATSR5 SFP IR BDC, Black

I have used a lot of LPVO's but haven't owned one for myself so after some research I picked this one up and am amazed. super clear I don't know how anyone can ask for clearer unless they are insanely blind because this thing is very clear. I really like the reticle on this as well its very easy to see in all lighting condition even when its not illuminated plus in pitch darkness when using the weapon light you can be fine with the illumination off and see the reticle perfectly and not blown out. very high quality for the price, this is a good piece of kit for sure.

First off, I absolutely love Athlons scopes ! I have a chronus 4.5 x29 56, Argos 6x24 50 and this one. With the load I came up with to get under 1 inch groups my velocity is around 2460 fps with the recommended 68 gr bullets.. The reticle is zero @ 200] 2.4 moa@300] 5.6 @ 400.] At my velocity according to ballistics is [email protected]] 7.7@400 . If I got my numbers right you'll need right around 2813 fps to use the reticle accurately. I'm using a 16" barrel. The pictures @ 100yd 5 shots, 2 worst was just under 1" an I'll dial that in some with match dies. You can adapt to using this reticle. I will. The scope has capped turrets with 1/2 moa clicks so you can accurately use those for your velocity and ballistics calculations. The scope has great clarity for the money ! I gave it 5 stars because I'm sure they did there job with the reticle and longer barrels. Wish they'd do a reticle for the average velocities out there.

It is an excellent lpvo, with a clear and wide view even at high magnification. Illumination is decent in daylight should you need it. I just wish it would come with a quick turn handle for magnification. This is my second one and I mounted it on my 45-70 lever action. I've put 60 hot rounds through it and no sign of damage or loss of zero. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Athlon has good scopes for the price range

I've had 2 of these for a year. They are crisp, easy to use, and stay zero'd on .223 and 7.62x39. I was so pleased, I bought 3 more! Now I one on every rifle smaller than .308! The only adverse comment might be the zoom ring is a bit difficult to use. But there are some zoom rings available that mount on them to make changing zoom MUCH easier.

I'm a fan of athlon and have several of their scopes. I bought this one and wanted to like it, glass was clear and worked great but it had trash on the reticle so I sent it back and bought the helos 1-10. Which I love

Scope was in it's original box but no seal or clear plastic wrapping like all other scopes I've purchased. Only thing keeping the cover closed is a weak magnetic strip that basically flopped open. Looks like the contents was repacked. Def not factory. Checked the scope very carefully for mounting ring marks. Looks ok, illumination works so I mounted it and will see how it performs. Considering sending it back. I paid for a new scope not a used one.

Easy to install on an AR-15. Great optics with easy adjustments for sighting in target. Optical covers flip-up on both the front and back. I recommend this item for purchase.
