I installed this alternator today and performed a full load test. This test done by leaving the A/C and A/C fan on high while radiator cooling fan is in operation while leaving accessory indoor lights along with hazards and brake lights and headlamps on... Alternator works just fine and puts an average 13.5 volts of power while running. By the way this alternator was used on my 1989 Vette. I am not only impressed by the quality of the product but also the price value of the product.

Don't bother. ACDelco doesn't care about quality.
Do not buy! Absolutely junk right out of the box! No signs of shipping damage, came packed inside 3 boxes. Doesn't spin and the stud is bent. This is insane. Either this is a ACDelco clone or GM has went to the worse suppliers in China as well. And of course I have to actually go out of my way to return it for a refund.

Perfect. New and made in USA.
This is the made in flint Michigan original. Great price and excellent quality product. Not the Chinese or Mexican knockoff. 34 year old car and same as the original part.

Works, fits modified '85 Corvette
Turned out the previous owner had modified my '85 Corvette with a later-model alternator but hadn't wired it properly - possibly the cause of the alternator failure. Determined that this was the correct replacement for the updated part and had the correct connector, supposed to be a more reliable design than original, and the price was better than local sources. Fit correctly, produced appropriate voltage, and no more squeal. Great price; happy with this part.

Not worth the headache
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Start failing 30 minutes after install and burnt out from making a stop at a light. If you own a corvette, just buy an alternator locally from a part house.

I liked the fact that it worked as it is supposed to. It is a GM product built by the company that built my Corvette. I would hardly expect it not to fit or not to work. No surprises.
