Spektrum Smart ESC Programming Update Box: Avian and Firma, SPMXCA200, Black

If you are upgrading to a Spektrum brushless motor, you need to get one of these. The cheaper cards work, but it is sure nice to be able to see what the settings are on the programmer rather than having to refer to a sticker with all the options. Just make sure you save your settings before disconnecting, took me a minute to figure that one out. This thing ensures you get the fullest functionality out of your motor and allows you to dial back the punch and top speed. It runs on the power from your vehicle, so no additional batteries to mess with. I guess it's durable, I haven't had any issues with it, but it is made of plastic.

Easy to use, compact and quick. Functionality wise you can set everything you normally set with an esc, this just makes it easier and trouble-free. There is no battery life so I can see it being durable for a long time. Value for the money is there, just need to have enough real life use cases to get there.

Works great it's a must have

I bought 2 new r/c trucks and both of them had a bad ESC. I returned the first one but decided to try and fix the 2nd one. The ESC needed a firmware update, so I bought a programmer and looked on YouTube to figure out how to use it. I was worried that it wouldn't work, but once I figured out how to update the programmer, it worked great. I got so confident that I used it on the controllers in every vehicle I had. This is a must have item for any hobbyist and I'm glad I added it to my repair kit.

Necessary for arrma etc choose your power profile, good for tuning the stunt truck outcast 4s, option including pc firmware updates for model support. Requires you to expose the ESC if water proof, so not as easy as say Traxxas Bluetooth module, but universal to most specktrum esc

Head's up , only working on Smart ESC'S Only. Didn't work on my BLX ESC'S. Yet easy fast setting. Definitely recommend. I hate depending on beeps & blinking lights for setting up my ESC'S. Buy this

This does not deserve the hate its getting! The simple fact some aren't getting is that this requires a firmware update to work with newer ESCs, then that same ESC needs a firmware update. Both happen through the same software, and both are required. It's awesome and convenient. You know exactly what values you're getting with no need for a printed card, or the dreadful beeps to program. You need a USB-C data cable (included) to plug in simultaneously while the programmer is plugged in to the ESC. This provides power and data. The software will auto load the firmware updates. It is an easy process if you know what's required to get it working. Is it kinda irritating to have to upgrade the firmware immediately for all functionality? Yes. But once you do it, you can upgrade your Spektrum ESCs to the most recent firmware AND use your computer to change settings if you misplace the smart programmer. If you're having trouble getting this working, check YouTube. I'm by no means technologically advanced, and if I can figure it out in about 30 minutes.. you're selling yourself short. There's some way you can get this stuff to work with a Bluetooth module. That's what I'm working on!

So I was on the fence with upgrading to a brushless 2in1 ESC combo for my crawler. I was looking at Hobbywing (programmer is provided) or Spektrum (which all my rigs run today). The programmer comes with a USB-USB-C cable to update firmware from a Windows PC. I needed to do this immediately with mine, it would program but some options were not present. Firmware update on programmer took about 10 minutes - I plugged the programmer into the programming port on my ESC power button and pressed the button to connect after the ESC was powered up. I had the ESC menu next to me so programming was a breeze, I bring this to the field and have changed a few settings based on conditions. So easy to use - it's a buy it, use it a couple times, then store until next time. I'm going to rent mine to my buddies, lol!

After updating this card on the spectrum website I easily updated the control units and adjusted settings on 3 different cars very easily. Easy menu, scrolling and setting use on the card too.

Das Teil macht was es soll und daß auch sehr einfach. Endlich hat die Programmierung über die Steuerung und das nervige Gepiepse ein Ende. Kann's nur empfehlen
