I like this shampoo, it works well and doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy.

Folténe shampoo will not foam up and act like dime-store hair and scalp detergent; that's for the stuff that's killing your/our hair. Folténe is an Italian brand that uses natural ingredients to boost hair strength yet softness and does a good job on (my) scalp. MOST SHAMPOOS use harsh stuff that does a lot more damage; here is one that smart world-travellers know. Turn to Europe for natural solutions! No sulphates! I am careful not to use junk on my head; over time, the hair loss of years of not knowing has turned around. I've got hair back, thank goodness and in part, thanks to Folténe!!! The first time, stateside, this brand showed up was in Las Vegas where I was looking for better-than-average hair care and got this suggested. It was clear, no real lab-made smell and I could feel the capsicum make my scalp tingle. My scalp no longer had dandruff issues from drying out and THIS does, indeed both clean and strip back scalps to naturally CLEAN. It's worth it, IMHO, to try it. I've recommended this to friends. They've been an Italian manufacturer since 1923! Worthwhile to try... and on Amazon!!!

This is a pretty unique shampoo. It contains a patented ingredient, Tricosaccharide, that is only found in Foltene products. I knew nothing about this ingredient so I did some googling and found a clinical study that indicated that it is effective for treating male pattern baldness and two types of alopecia. One of the other ingredients is capsicum which research indicates can be effective for promoting hair growth. Foltene also makes a Tricosaccharide shampoo for both men & women which I really wanted to try, but this version for men was the only one offered on Vine so I decided to try it before spending on the women-too version. I have found that most of the time, the main difference between men’s & women’s shampoos (and conditioners too) is the fragrance, but in this case, I think there is also a difference in the amount of the active ingredient, with it being higher for the men’s shampoo. I could not confirm this though. This comes in a well-sealed medium-sized tube that has a plastic tab that has to be removed in order to open it. This tab was easy to remove. The shampoo does have a fragrance that seems more appropriate for men but the fragrance is light. This is a pretty gentle shampoo that creates a good lather so it cleans well, and it did not irritate my skin. I plan to keep using this to see if it helps with my hair loss. While the data is limited - I wish I could have found more clinical studies, and ones using larger sample sizes - I still think this is worth a try if you have problems with hair loss. This was a good option for me because I don’t want to use minoxidil after finding out about its extreme (lethal) toxicity to pets.

I got the Foltene Shampoo for Strengthening Thinning Hair for my husband, and it’s been such a great choice! His hair feels noticeably stronger and fuller, and I’ve seen a real difference in how healthy it looks. He also mentioned how much he likes the scent—it’s fresh and clean without being overpowering. And I have to say, his hair looks fantastic! It’s shinier and thicker than it’s been in a while. If you’re looking for a shampoo that really delivers on strengthening and improving hair, this is the one. My husband is super happy with it, and so am I!

Having carefully researched all anti-baldness remedies my entire adult life, this product's claims are overdone: do you really expect significant effects from a product that stays on your head for 30 seconds to a minute while you lather it up, then wash it off with plenty of water? Hmmmm. Second, my shampoo came with an instructions inset that ...instructed me how to break ampules of liquid and spread it on my scalp (photos showed how to do it) - HUHH?? Wrong product?? I also agree with another reviewer about the difficulty of initially opening the tube: you have to break a piece of the plastic cap and it's easy to break the entire cap off. On the bright side, this shampoo seems to do a very nice job for washing hair, and I will even say it does leave my hair "fuller" in texture.

I am always on the lookout for shampoos that can help with thinning and fragile hair, which is why this Foltene Pharma shampoo caught my eye. Not everybody can use minoxidil, so it's wise to investigate alternatives and this shampoo out of Italy looked like a good bet. One thing I really appreciate about this shampoo is that the ingredients don't read like a lesson in chemistry. It contains lots of plant-derived oils/extracts plus the star of the show, tricosaccaride, which is patented and thought to strengthen and stimulate hair growth. This product also does not contain any silicones, sulfates, mineral oil or paraffin, yay! Both husband and I have used the shampoo several times now and really love what it is doing for our hair. It lathers up beautifully with little effort, and easily rinses out. I am not sure what the scent is supposed to be, but to me it smells like somebody threw a bouquet of flowers into a vat of root beer and I just adore it- fantastic fragrance! Both husband and I have noticed that our hair looks and feels softer, shinier and healthier, overall. It is too soon to say whether the shampoo is helping with strengthening or even stimulating growth, but I have noticed that my styling brush is not collecting as many hairs lately. When I ordered this scalp revitalizing shampoo it was selling for $22.99, which is a fair price for shampoo that contains more natural ingredients.
