Worked great!
Worked great out of the box and using ChatGPT, it was really easy to get the device doing things. Recommend and will buy more.

Works great, but needs extra(?) wire to function...
I've been fighting these off and on for a week trying to get one to work with an SKR 1.2 and OnStep. Turns out it needs the CH_PD pin pulled high to work (and to be programmed in addition to having GPIO0 grounded). This is shown in the diagram and in the description, but the translation(?) to English is a bit unclear.Minus 1 star for this odd requirement on an otherwise good module. If it always needs power, why bring it out as a pin? Maybe an enable/disable feature? I have to either dig into the OnStep firmware and try to force that GPIO high on the SKR board or modify the module's header to isolate CH_PD from the socket and jump it to VCC.

3d printer wifi upgraded
Bought this for upgrading our prusa mini 3d printer. It’s was so easy just plug and play and download update for prusa also, a few other steps and bam, no more unplugging and plugging the usb stick. Perfect purchase and fast shipping.

Works, but with some caveats
I bought these with the intention of WIFI enabling another device. I managed to mostly get them to work, but with some caveats. As some people have said, the firmware on these is very old. Part of the issue is that they don't have enough flash memory to run the latest firmware. You would need 4MB of flash to do that, whereas these only have 1MB. If I were going to do this again, I would definitely get a ESP-01s with 4MB, or an ESP32.I was able to get these to connect over SSL to any web server that doesn't require SSL certificate verification. The issue is that the server I want to connect to apparently requires this. When I turn on certificate verification, I can't connect to any web server. I believe this might be resolved by upgrading to the newest firmware, which I can't do.Another fun thing about these is that they don't have the firmware commands to send HTTP GET/POST directly, so you will need to build the requests manually via a TCP connection. This is totally doable, but I had to figure out how to do this. So, in short, if this works for your use case, it's a great deal.

All three Dead
Did not work at all. Not with an Arduino. Not with an FTDI. Low priced and not worth it.So low priced that it is not worth contacting tech support or returning it.

Don't buy unless you have advanced knowledge in flashing the firmware
Completely useless to the mainstream consumer. These are sold with outdated firmware and unless you have the tools already, you will need to buy an additional USB programmer to interface with it in order to flash it. I would expect something like this to be about a quarter of the price they are selling it for. At least mention the firmware version in the product description. I will keep these because now I feel an overwhelming need get the firmware update to work! But I bought another board from someone else.
