SEI Furniture Wall Mount Ironing Center, Black

The piece is attractive and relatively well built. However, the installation was tough because the anchors that were provided are too large for the screws they included. I'm not sure they would have held its weight, especially if it were loaded down with ironing supplies, so we just screwed the piece directly into the studs with our own, higher quality and longer screws. In order to hit the studs *and* center the board on the wall, we had to create new holes for the screws, rather than using the ones they intended. It's definitely not something you want to attempt solo, and if we'd had enough room in our laundry room, a third person would have been helpful. Also, the latch for the ironing board doesn't line up well, so it's difficult to secure; you really have to force it.Another issue is that my iron doesn't really fit on the shelf inside. The shelf is just barely too narrow. I think if I had to, I could make it work, but I don't need to store the iron in that cabinet, so I don't.Lastly, because the ironing board is supported by a leg that swings out from underneath the board, the height of the piece is not adjustable. It sits a little low for my taste. I'm only 5'5", so it's pretty low. This also brings me to my big problem of the placement of this leg. Because of the necessary placement of the hinge for this support leg, which swings out from the very top of the ironing board, there is no way that you can pull a garment over the end of the board. The leg placement blocks it. Any dress or blouse that doesn't have buttons or an opening of some kind is problematic.Knowing what I know now, I probably wouldn't have ordered this. It was relatively pricey, especially considering the issues it has.

Item arrived in perfect shape, it was packaged very well and no issues with hardware as I read in a couple reviews. It was a larger depth than we expected so we reconfigured the location we had planned for it, by bumping out our utility sink and building and surround behind it. I wanted it to appear to be an above sink cabinet with multi laundry room usage. Ironing board, folding table and storage. My only disappointment is that it’s a tough fit for oversized irons, so keep that in mind.

I received it on time, but when I tell you this is complete garbage, i mean it. The cardboard that is extremely thin is not even secured with the proper screws. the mirror is about to fall out. When mounting it with the supplied fasteners, the screws are too small and the whole cabinet literally fell off the wall into my hands, damaging my wall. I would consider this product UNSAFE!!! also the latch that holds the board into the closet to prevent it falling out of the closet when the door is opened does not latch into the slotted hole for it. Therefore every time you open the door, the potential for it to strike you is going to happen. These should not be allowed for sale anywhere.

How did I ever get along without this wall mount ironing center, I don't know. It's so convenient. The magnetic closure is strong enough to keep the door closed when not in use. As with other reviewers who mentioned that the hole to lock the ironing board inside the cabinet did not meet with the latch. But a little use of the drill and I was able to fix that little error. Since it's on the inside of the cabinet I wasn't concerned. Thanks to another reviewer, I did add a knob handle to open the door only because it makes it easier for me to grab the door to open it. Make sure you have at least one stud to mount this heavy cabinet.

The hole for the slide latch inside that secures the board was incorrectly drilled too low & did not align anywhere close. Probably 1/2" too low. Needed to drill a hole in the CORRECT location (picture available upon request)."Piano" style hinges are very thin,cheap and bent making the board very wobbly.Incorrect screws to attach unit to wall are too thin.Included ironing board cover is already worn out and replaced last week.

I really like the concept of this and it's definitely working out but we found just a few issues with it. The piece that holds the board up when you unfold it is very flimsy and I don't really like putting too much pressure on it. It could be just a tiny bit deeper so that the iron fits in there better, but it still closes if you turn the iron slightly to the side. Overall, I'm glad I purchased this but it just seems like it could have been made with better materials for the price.

what piece of garbage it fell apart as I was mounting it on the wall I have been a carpenter for 22 years and I never came across something so poorly made that actually the ironing board came right off the hinges and the latch does not line up at all had to drill a new hole not worth $0.20 this product . Manufacturers should be ashamed we were putting this out for sale DON'T NOT BUY

It's doing the job. I had a small area to fit. I suggest the between studs version, if you can. Better quality. The hinges all bent within two days on this one. Replaced the cheapy ones(3) with better ones from hardware store. A small investment, but necessary. It looks very nice from the outside. The board itself is sturdy but it has the wood support which is a pain. The between studs one has no support and moves side to side and sturdier. This was the only " on the wall mount" I could find. The mirror door is nice looking and it does lock in up position.

Poor quality iron board,leg flimsy. Not worth the money.

Great product!Item exactly as described - They should have a simple cardboard with marked holes in package for simpler explanation to drill on the wall (something like IKEA does in their mirrors packaging) - At times its difficult using the measuring stick to measure the exact points to make the hole on the wall.

We were told that the cabinet would hold an ironing board but it isn't deep enough. The edge fell off of the shelving. The screws holding the ironing board hinge are short and the screws were loose. The magnet in the door closure had to be moved so that it would work. My wife likes the ironing board itself but for the money spent, we were hoping for better construction.

We have had this installed for almost 3 years (took me a while to write this!) and we are still happy with it. Great quality and extremely useful!
