Review: Ease of use - This item is very well built, it's a ubiquit product, its ease of setup is like riding a bike easy. The quality of the plastic in the sun does discolor but it's still just as functional and water resistant as day one. only complaint is the antennas how easy they chip after many years out in the Florida sun. Review: Great utility access point - I own a small IT consulting and installation company in Atlanta. These unify access points are fantastic for some additional coverage in difficult areas. They don’t have quite the range of their other access points however they are perfect for what they are intended for. I would highly recommend these based on your needs.

I plan on move to all UAP-AC-M Unifi APS
The UAP-AC-M UniFi AP ac Mesh is a dual-band, 802.11ac mesh access point that is ideal for extending Wi-Fi coverage to large or hard-to-reach areas. It is also a good choice for outdoor deployments, as it is weatherproof and has a built-in mounting bracket. One of the best things about the UAP-AC-M is its ease of setup and use. It can be managed using the free UniFi Controller software, which provides a centralized view of all of your UniFi devices. The controller software is also used to configure the UAP-AC-M's mesh network, which is a simple process. Once the UAP-AC-M is set up and connected to your network, it provides excellent Wi-Fi performance. It has a maximum speed of 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. The UAP-AC-M also supports MU-MIMO, which allows it to communicate with multiple devices simultaneously. Another great thing about the UAP-AC-M is its affordability. It is much less expensive than other enterprise-grade mesh access points. It is also a good value for the money, as it offers excellent performance and features. Overall, the UAP-AC-M UniFi AP ac Mesh is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and affordable mesh access point. It is easy to set up and use, and it provides excellent Wi-Fi performance. Here are some of the pros and cons of the UAP-AC-M UniFi AP ac Mesh: Pros: Easy to set up and use Excellent Wi-Fi performance Affordable Weatherproof Built-in mounting bracket Supports MU-MIMO

Good product.
So far so good. Wanted an outdoor AP for my unifi system. Was using a u6 indoor ap in an enclosure. Old router i used for a bridge out in shop frequently lost connection and had to be restarted. Since I installed this AP, I havent restarted once. Have home automation devices in remote locations that have much stronger signals as well. Easy setup with unifi controller as well. Only had a few weeks so far, but happy to date.

Excellent range and throughput
I've got five U6+'s in my house, but since our house is a 120 year old brick house with plaster and lathe walls, wifi coverage basically doesn't work it's way outside. I installed one of these on our front porch and one in the back yard. The coverage is FANTASTIC outside now. Zero issues or complaints.

Downloaded & installed the Unifi management server software. Adopted 3 APs. Set the SSID & a few other parts like RADIUS, guest wifi and threat detection. The setup of three APs and the software took about 40 mins. With the POE adapters already provided in the box I was able to run powered ethernet over some lengths of CAT6 to the three APs. All worked flawlessly first time and survived some pretty fierce storms. Continuous WIFI coverage across the whole property. Enterprise grade kit at home user prices.

I have a Ubiquiti Edgerouter X, along with a Unifi Ap-AC-Lite, but had zero wifi signal to my backyard (older house with thick walls). Despite tweak the Ap-AC-Lite (increased transmit power, changed channels, etc), nothing seemed to work. Then I came across this add-on mesh AP unit. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to extend the wifi off my Ap-AC-Lite. Setup was straightforward, and you only need to plug in the POE port cable for it's power supply (no need to plug in the LAN for wireless connection). Also ensure that if you are connecting it thru another AP device, to configure that source AP device to allow mesh connections. Use the Unifi Controller software (not their mobile app), under config, Wireless Uplinks and enable "allow meshing to another access point", and then you should be able to see your UAP-AC-M unit wirelessly to adopt it into Unifi Controller for configuration. So far, so good as I'm getting excellent transfer speeds from my backyard, as I would sitting in the kitchen, and wife signals are rock solid steady.

I used these to connect a cottage 50m from main house; when these are paired in sight of each other its a quality connection.
