They say vibration stimulates bloodflow, which helps tissues heal faster -- but for me, this device is INSTANT relief as well. Unlike many others, it does not poke and prod -- it just generates good strong (but not TOO strong) vibration. It seems to disrupt the tension in the muscles, which breaks the vicious cycle of tension-which-creates-pain-which-creates-MORE-tension-which-creates-MORE-pain... for me, it's like turning off a switch. Twenty minutes with this after a rough day eases stiffness and resets everything.It really does a lot of good! It's made for the neck, but you can lean any part of your back against it and use pillows as needed to get comfortable. (I do wish the company made one in a plain pillow form too, though.) You can use either of two vibration settings, you can add heat to either setting, or you can use heat alone. And it shuts off automatically every 15 minutes or so, so you can safely fall asleep with it. I keep a pillowcase on mine so it stays clean -- you can easily feel the controls through the fabric.

Having suffered with migraines in the past, I try to have one of these on hand. As I use it often, the cord eventually stops working or the motor goes. I immediately go to my backup. When a migraine arrives you need a WORKING unit. That being said, I now have a shoulder injury. I’ve been using it for that; setting it more behind me to the left of the right shoulder blade. It’s wonderful. I’ve tried others but this one is ‘my buddy’. I just wish the power cord latest longer.

I purchased this neck massager to relive shoulder and neck tension. I was pleased to find this massager at the price point, and used it a few times. I found it comfortable to wear, but the mechanics of the massager are placed too high for me. The focus of the area it massages is the upper neck, not the lower neck. The reverberation from the massager is more in the area of my jawline, which effected my ears too much.The heat only works when the massager is turned on. It does not work separately, like others do.

While the size and ease of use would seem to make this very convenient, I did not find it to do more than vibrate loudly which defeats the purpose of being relaxing and soothing. I could not feel any "shiatsu" like kneading. You really have to hold the handles tight to get any contact and the heat you feel is extremely minimal. (The heat function does NOT work when using batteries so so much for FULLY functioning as a portable unit!). I really hoped this would give me some stress relief but all it does is make me feel lightheaded and slightly dizzy. Glad I didn't invest too much for it - returning is too much of a hassle. Very disappointing.

The product is comfortable to apply but the relief is basically average at best. Great after a tough day at work but really not designed for "pain" relief. The 2 speed vibration selector is great but the heat application is minimal and can only be accessed when using the accompanying power cord.

This neck massager is fantastic! I use it for 15- mins every day. It fits nicely around my neck. The only drawback is that you have to hold the loops for the massager to fit securely around the neck. But that’s a minor issue overall. The heat works well.

my friend had this exact same one, so I got to try it out first and decided I needed my own.my neck is pretty consistently stiff, and I found relief with this. nothing beats the skillful hands of a trained massage therapist, but this device can hold you over in between sessions.I will lay with this on my neck until it times out and by the end of it I am usually almost asleep.the humming of the vibration also puts me into a meditative trance like state.definitely worth the money for me.

It's not malleable and doesn't conform to your neck. Instead of comforting you, it just feels like something foreign around your head and shoulders. Have to pull it tight around you to feel massager, which isn't as effective as we had hoped. this one will sit in the attic or be donated to Goodwill since it is not returnable.
