So far so Good
I’m homeschooling and so far I love this book! (Granted we just got it) but it’s perfect exactly what I was looking for! It gives teaching prompts and ideas things to discuss etc….which is perfect! It also has vocabulary words which to me was a plus. I plan on using each word to work on spelling and reading comprehension with each week as well. I did however notice that the way some things are worded are a little odd for example in the first weeks lesson it’s about living and non living things….day 5 has a picture of a teddy bear and as it’s called in the book a big bear. It very well could have been worded a grizzly bear or something I feel it would have been better however maybe they thought it would be too obvious that the grizzly bear was alive? I’m not sure but it’s not a big issue none the less. Overall I’m very very satisfied!

Very Used
Daily Science is great. We are doing the 1st grade book over the summer just so there is still a little bit of learning going on. Then we will start the 2nd grade book once school starts in the fall (homeschooler). I did buy the used book knowing a few pages would be used out of it. I was kinda disappointed the entire first unit was taken out. I was really looking forward to having her do the 'Do Plants Have Mouths?' activity shown on the front cover.

Got my kid through first grade!
I highly recommend this workbook. Take it slow and make learning a fun part of your daily or weekly routines. Last year my first grader was struggling with science. She was passing the subject, but barely. Despite our hard work to help her with homework and doing online research and trips to our local library to study, we still found she was having issues retaining the information. She is a bright kid and has been in second honors since first grade. She LOVES math and now in second grade she is doing incredibly well in math. Thanks to this workbook as per teacher's recommendation, she soon began to do so much better in science. Her grades went up, and she ended up in first honors at school.

Easy daily worksheets to incorporate into your homeschool routine
The mini unit studies are working out quite well so far. The kids can have these done in under 10 minutes usually, I have them write the terms with their definitions in a separate notebook to help the info stick in their minds. It also has ideas for mini hands on projects like putting celery in colored water so the kids can watch how plants draw nutrients in as the celery changes color, and they really liked doing the leaf rubbings too.

My favorite Evan Moor workbook
I homeschool my kids and love these workbooks but this science series is my favorite. Just like anything else you’ll need to supplement the material but it makes lesson planning so easy.

This curriculum is so much fun!
We are a homeschooling family and I’ve been looking for a fun and engaging science curriculum for all three of my kids. This one has been great! The set up is great as well! There are 6 “big ideas” and 5 weeks within each idea. This first month has been all about living vs no living things. My children are excited to hear what the weekly question is and dive into each topic. We will definitely be ordering more from this company.

I was just looking for something simple and and easy to open and go and this book is what I was looking for. Definitely way too easy for my Grade 1 son but I’m ok with simple and easy for now. We do lots of other teaching and experiments that are more thought provoking and challenging aside from this book.
