Greetings from Richmond Paperback – Illustrated, October 29, 2009

This is one of the most attractive "history" books I've ever read. The old postcards are beautiful and each one is a mini-history lesson of times gone by. It is a wonderful keepsake and a fabulous gift.

The images captured by the American postcard are often unique and preserve views of buildings and landscapes that no longer exist. Bonis and Ray have created a nice cross-section of the postcards that recorded Richmond's past and presented them in a handsome volume. Previous efforts to document Richmond's postcard view featured muddy black and white illustrations. This book shows these postcards off in glorious color as they were intended to impress the original recipient. High marks to the authors for this collection and its presentation.
