Survivors: True Stories of Children in the Holocaust
Ever since General Eisenhauer came upon the "Death Camp" in Germany, I have been very interested in reading anything and everything about the holocaust. However, "Survivors" was a book about "children", which made me all the more anxious to read it. After reading a review about this book in our local paper, I knew I "had to get it"! As in the past, I knew if the book is on the market, Amazon would have it. Thanks to their great and prompt service, it arrived in four days!I thought I'd "just look through it for now"! Instead,I found myself "letting everything else go", as I sat there mesmerized by the tales written by adults who had lived through the Holocaust as children. I finished reading this book that very same day!I can't begin to tell you how the terror and horrific tales tugged at my heart! It made me also think of the many children who did NOT survive to tell their stories. May this never happen again! It is always a pleasure to "read a good book", but one's feelings differ when the writings are not fiction but true stories, as this book was! It captivates you as soon as you glance at the picture of the precious little girl on the cover!I highly recommend this book to other readers! We must never forget what the Hitler regime did to those poor people! This book reveals the horror in the small, precious children's hearts and minds.Harriet Pilson

These stories of survivors are wonderfully told in detail, showing each hero’s faith, courage and strength to survive. Thank you for sharing your stories, and thank you to Author Allan for putting them on paper.

Interesting, sad, and slightly uplifting.. hard to put down.
I ordered this book because I have an interest in the Holocaust. I have read other books relating to the Holocaust, but not any quite like this one. These stories are interesting and sad, however some of them turn out to be very uplifting in the end. Its amazing to read what these children went through, and that they still lived. Once you get started on this book it is very hard to put it down. However, due to the way it is written, it is easy to ready a story or two from it during a break in the day and not feel like you left off at a "bad time" in the book.I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the Holocaust.

Good Book
This is a good book: tells each story as it happened. If you are looking for a novel then this is not the book for you. Each story is honest and to the point and then tells you where each person is at the present moment of when each story was written.I would recommend this book to adults and younger people as well.Fast and easy read.

Sensitive Approach to the most horrible of horribles!
Required reading for those wanting to know the real experience of the holocaust from the pens of grown children.Although I purchased Allan Zullo and Mara Bovsun's book to use as research on a book I was writing ,it not only served that purpose. I was swept up into the horror of genocide. An abomination! Each narrative expressed gratitude for surviving, but I couldn't help getting angry for each one all over again. Just to know that a selected group of individuals was being subdued by the maniacal and pitiful ruler responsible for minimizing the human being! It extended the heart in me that just couldn't fathom someone doing something this big in the most dispicable way possible. I was swept up in Luncia Gamzer's story and others who gave their take on what it meant to hide from life itself. The stories are presented in a way that children now could understand, even the graphic details of their sacrifices-appropriately.Inspiring, and desperately amazing in its approach!

Great book of inspiring true stories.
Grim but heartwarming stories of holocaust survivors which tell the horrific story but in allowing you to understand their plight, determination and strength you see hope while remembering the horrendous Nazi holocaust. Everyone should read this book! We must never forget.
