Works very well but be patient, some weeds take longer to die than others!
I've never used this product before, but I'm glad I found it! My lawn had gotten so full of weeds, I decided to just kill everything with a broad-spectrum vegetation killer and start over. Waited until Fall, then sprayed the lawn, waited 2-3 weeks and sprayed it again to make sure everything was dead. Had to look at bare earth all winter, but it was for the best. This is where I messed up... In the spring, I tilled up the entire area and immediately put down some very expensive grass seed. I've since learned that it's best to till, wait a week or so for the weed seeds you just tilled up to sprout, then spray weed killer again to get rid of all the weeds before putting down grass seed. Having planted the grass seed right after tilling, the number of weeds that sprouted was insane. I didn't have a lawn, I had a huge patch of plantain, clover, Japanese clover, dollar weed, and crabgrass. Some of the grass grew, but it was mostly weeds. I've read a lot of reviews for grass seed that complain about nothing but weeds growing, but their description indicates that they did the same thing I did and planted right after tilling. Anyway... I found this product and followed directions to hopefully kill off the weeds. I knew that I was going to have a lot of bare spots (since I had so many weeds that had crowded out the grass), but I planned to over-seed this fall, anyway. The plantain, dollar weed, and clover started to die within 2 days and were completely gone within a week. The Japanese clover, however, took a while longer to start to die. I was starting to think that I was going to have to re-apply this or a different brand to kill it, but after almost 2 weeks it finally started to wither and has now died off. I do have a lot of areas that need to be re-seeded, but at least the weeds are under control and mostly gone. The crabgrass will have to be treated a different way since this product does not kill actively growing crabgrass, and I'm overseeding this fall so I can't use a pre-emergent next spring, either. The combination of fertilizer and weed killer is great, though, since crabgrass is opportunistic and grows when turf grass is not well-fed or maintained. Hopefully, ensuring the health of the lawn will help prevent crabgrass from taking hold next spring. I'm happy with the results, even though it took longer than I expected for some of the weeds. The biggest difficulty I had was keeping the dog off the treated area for a few days (the info on the bag says no pets/humans for 24 hours, but I erred on the side of caution and waited until it rained before letting her back on the treated area).

Great spring lawn prep
Fighting back the seed bank for weeds takes constant work. Adding this to my spring lawn care really helped knock back the weeds and put the grass ahead for the growth season. It was easy to apply with my 75ft hose and the bottle covered what was expected based on the estimates they provide. It was worth the time, effort, and money.

Great stuff! Tricky application.
This stuff is powerful. The reason I believe people aren't getting the results they expect is because they are not following the very specific directions. The first time I applied it, it didn't do much for weeds, because I didn't follow the directions. This time I did follow them, and it worked like magic. It is tricky to find the time window needed - apply to a wet lawn, but where it won't rain for at least 48 hours. This stuff works on weeds only if it sticks to and stays on weeds for at least 2 days. You will actually watch the weeds die before your eyes. After the first mow afterward, none of the weeds came back, but my lawn is lush and growing like crazy. I do have a few burn spots on my lawn, but that is from me over applying the product in those areas. It is better to under do it than over do it. I'm sure those spots will heal, and I'm very happy with this stuff. Great job, Scotts!

Did not work spring this year (2025) - the weeds still growing
March 2025: 3 weeks after peoduct applied and watered as directed, it has not killed any weeds! I bought the same stuff last year in March 2024 and it killed weeds beautifully and greened up the Bermuda grass. The Scott’s product form on Amazons site didn’t work so I couldn’t file for their no-quibble guarantee, but I contacted Amazon customer support and they graciously refunded me for my 2025 purchases.

Works… Kind of, But Not as Impressive as Expected
I had high expectations for this product after examining the label — a combination of weed killer and fertilizer seemed like a great idea. Unfortunately, the outcomes were somewhat disappointing. The positives: It was straightforward to use with a hose-end sprayer, and it appeared to enhance certain areas of my lawn within a week. The grass certainly appeared healthier in some spots, indicating that the fertilizer component is effective to some extent. The negatives: Regarding weed control, the effectiveness was inconsistent. It managed to eliminate some smaller broadleaf weeds, but more persistent ones like clover and dandelions showed little to no response. After two weeks, I still had a significant number of weeds remaining, which meant I had to resort to a separate spot treatment. Additionally, the coverage seemed a bit overly optimistic — if your yard is medium to large, you will probably require more than one bottle to achieve complete results. In summary, it’s not awful, but it’s not exceptional either. It serves as a reasonable all-in-one option if your lawn just requires a slight enhancement and has few weed problems. However, for more resilient weeds or larger lawns, you may want to consider something more potent or specialized.

Almost as good as hiring a lawn care service
Four stars because the first time we bought it, it was magical. The second one we bought still gave us some weeds. Would still buy again though. We live in a housing plan ( ick) and the neighbors all pay for a lawn company to come and fertilize. My wife and I are cheap and didn’t want to hire anyone, but were also sick of looking like the culdesac trash. So, we decided to try this stuff. Let me tell you, the first time we bought it, our yard looked BETTER than most of the other yards for a fraction of the price. We had. No weeds and our grass was dark green and lush. Second time we bought it must have been a bad batch or something. Still made our grass lush, but we had quite a few weeds. We plan to buy it again though since it worked so well the first time. Maybe the second time was user error…
