Large/Extra Large Dogs

9/20/24 second update : Back up to five star rating after amazing response from the company and follow through. Our pup is now 6 1/2 years old and Continues to have very healthy teeth.8/23 Update: I received a response within just a few days. The company tells me they have not made any design or size changes to the dental chews. They are replacing the bag with that charge. I will update again if the new bag is the correct size. Stay tuned!We have a five year old, 100 pound golden doodle with very healthy teeth. He’s eaten in one of the large/extra large chews after dinner every night for the last two years. As others have stated, he loves them, and always comes to get one as soon as he’s finished his dinner. It cleans his teeth because of how hard he hast to work to chew it up. The original size was .75“ x 3 1/2“. This was perfect for a large dog. The new design is a longer version but only 1/2 in diameter. He spends very little time chewing on it and I’m concerned that he’s going to choke because he inhales the hard pieces. This was never a concerned on the larger size.

Our vet wanted almost $1000 to clean our dog's teeth. Her teeth were brown and dark yellow with tartar but are now white after giving her about 3 of these a week for about 2 months. They're amazing, we've been using them over a year now but only about 1 a week.

My dogs love these dental chews, however, I think the age of the stock that Amazon is inconsistent. Some are hard as rocks which to me, would indicate old stock. Half of the bags are this way, the other half are softer, choose the way they should be.

This is a great product to add to your pups food, especially if you are making homemade dog food.

Your pet's teeth are incredibly important for its health and one should always look to keeping them healthy!. For my dog Boomer, we regularly give him dental chews and also brush his teeth once a week (which he enjoys, just need the right toothpaste!) For dental chews we give him these missing link chews. These first of all make a great chew as Boomer loves them and they last a little while. They also include other supplements that when given regularly support joint health and help keep his coat super soft. I recommend giving your dog a dental chew regularly and these are the best!

Border Collies have a reputation for developing plaque more quickly that other breeds and therefore suffering more dental problems overall. I've been using Denta-Stix since they came onto the market, but I noticed a significant improvement in my Border Collies teeth following her last cleaning and following up with the Smartmouth brand. I recommend it highly.

Great dental treat with extra nutrients as well!!

My dog loves these, but the size, shape and inconsistency of the product has turned me off of them. He is a basset hound so has shorter legs and is not able to "hold" these very well while chewing on them and I fear he will swallow it whole and choke on it. Also, every package of the largest size that I receive is different, some are longer and thinner, some are shorter and thicker and some a so much harder than others, like they are drier out and stale. I will be looking for a different product that is worth the $30+
