I’m very disappointed in this book. It is the first in the series of three, and there is not much organization to the scales. Section one does C Major to 5 sharps, then 5 flats with Gb and F# as the sixth sharp/flat, ok, then cross-handed arpeggios, same organization, ok. Then section four does the minors with no organization, c minor, then g minor, then d minor, etc, no organization, confusing to learn as they don’t tell you the major chord it is relative to. By the way, only five finger scales, so you don’t learn the whole scale. The cover tells you that. But there is so much you have to figure out on your own. They don’t tell you which minor scale goes to what major, just random minor scales. So much you have to figure out and write in yourself. They call it an elementary book, but expect you to know more. They could have done a better job presenting the material. Disappointing for an elementary level book. That was my original thinking, but after working through the book, I find it a goldmine of information. A little beyond an elementary book, but worth it. Beginners, like myself, will find it worth your time!!

Sequential and progressive through all keys but only using five fingers it aligns with grade 1 level.

This is the best book on scales and chords that I have used in teaching piano.

If you’re a beginner or even a piano teacher, I’d highly recommend this book. It has simple and basic foundations to the piano world! I use this book to teach my students, the scales are very structured, the chords are separated and you can tell a difference with these two. I also use this book to practice and enhance my piano skills and it has definitely help me in the long run. I would say this is a good buy with different scales and chords to choose from.

Been playing the piano for almost a year now and I purchased these books in hopes that they would help me advance in my practices. My piano teacher says that these were great purchases and that they would definitely help. I haven’t used them yet but I’m excited to know that they are a teacher approved addition to my study material.

The activities are simple but, oh so effective! A lot of dexterity and creativity derive from this book. It's a nice break from methods for a while and a great payout. Have five minutes? Then you have at least one little exercise you can do!

I bought this book a few months ago and have really loved working through it. I'm memorising the 'teacher parts' so when I have piano students, i'm all ready and prepared for them to go ahead and learn their scales and I can add some accompaniment! Great book and really well thought out. Lots of tasks for the teacher and student to do together. And the improvisation task is great for the student to do, I also compose classical music so I shall enjoy the improv section of the book with my students!

The scale and chord books are so helpful! You can’t go wrong with Piano Adventures books, they are pedagogically sound, creative, and you can find curriculum appropriate for any age!! My students and I love them!!
