Works FANTASTICALLY
Did an excellent job cleaning the black off off the iron. Have a rag underneath the iron to protect the ironing board cover from the goo that comes off of the iron.

Does not work. Messy, smells bad
It does not work. It is a clear gel like product and when it melts on the iron, it smells horrible. It melts too fast, and drops all over the ironing board. My iron had some marks left by fabric that melted a little, and well, I scraped it off after this cleaning stick failed. I would return but I used up almost one stick in effort to clean my iron. Pass.

No instructions came with it. Doesn't work to clean iron completely.
No instructions came with it. Doesn't work to clean iron completely. I looked at the listing on Amazon to learn that the iron has to be turned on and then off. When it is lukewarm you apply this stick and then wipe off the iron bottom. I did this twice. The paper towel wiped off a bit of burnt clothing from the iron since I saw the paper towel had brown on it. However, it did not clean all of the brown stuff off the iron and it certainly did not look brand new like the listing claimed this product could do. I have applied it three times on a warm iron and am only managing to clean off a bit of the brown stain. I will keep applying it.

Not as good as it used to be!
I have used this product and it has been excellent. This was the reason for me buying this again but unfortunately it was not as effective as before. It is still easy to use but was not taking the burnt marks off my iron. I have to scrape some of it off with a sharp object and use oven cleaner.

First Time Using, Pretty Good
I used this iron cleaning pencil for the first time. It helped a bit, but my iron wasn’t completely clean yet. Maybe I did something wrong, but I think with practice it could work really well.

It worked for me
I have had a Rowena iron for many years - bought it on Overstock when they were pretty new I think. The iron had a flaw in that I had to hold the steam lever while I ironed. Sounds awful but it was easy for me and that iron is the best I ever had for steam ironing. The iron started sputtering, and I was thinking OK it's (15 years?) old and I have to expect it, but had had some trouble in the past thinking I had ruined it when I did an iron on thing incorrectly. I looked on Amazon and found the clean up sticks. Followed easy instructions, let it dry and wiped it off. The iron is back to normal. Worth writing a review about.

Tried this many times, and it did nothing to clean my irons. Granted my irons were pretty bad,( gunked up with fusible interfacing), but it was basically useless. I do not recommend at all

I recently bought an iron and within a month there was this black deposit on the teflon coated surface, since i had heard that a cleaner product is available i called for the caddie iron cleaner stick. I used it as per the instructions( which is not given in its product info here ) i.e apply on hot iron let it cool and then wipe but the deposit came off only when i reheated the iron after the cool down. I had to use it 2 or 3 times to pull the entire deposit out but it worked. (earlier i had tried detergent and some other home solutions but they had not worked.) Its expensive but Good.

I bought it for my flat and curling irons and it actually works pretty well on them. I know it’s meant for actual irons that you used for clothing, but if there’s a hairstylist out there that is looking for something to clean their tools it does work well if you are willing to put in a bit of elbow grease. The shipping did take longer than it was supposed to, but I would definitely buy it again.
