STAEDTLER 338 SB4 broadliner triplus (ergonomic triangular shape, dry safe, water-based ink, line width 0.8 mm, washable, stand-up box with 4 assorted colours)

I purchased these broadliners to add to my ever growing collection of pens. I already own a set of Staedtler's fineliners and was eager to get these and have a slightly thicker nib to draw and color with. The pens write smoothly and have vibrant colors. I like the range of colors that are offered in the 20 pack. The case is also cool because it folds into a stand so that you can have the markers propped up and easily accessible as you work. The broadliners are also great because Staedtler has a color match to the fineliner set so you don't have to worry about the colors being slightly off if you are creating a larger piece and need a thicker line.

These broadliners are just great. Still made in Germany, they are 1.0 mm thickness, but have a pointed tip design so you can tilt the pen for a broader line if designed. They also come in that great Staedtler box which serves both as a holder to keep all the pens together, but also as a stand that opens and clicks into place for when you are using them. I have a lot of Staedtlers, but this is one of my favorites because they are right at the thickness level that is great for everyday use, and then I use the more precise, thinner versions for when a thinner line is desired. One thing that is very nice, too, is that their colors are matched to other sets of different sizes. So, the 1mm orange here is the same orange as the 0.4mm or the 0.1mm pens. The tip is pretty strong, too, so it doesn’t seem that you have to worry about it becoming mushy over time. As with most every Staedtler product I’ve used, Highly Recommended! Five stars.

I'm picky about pens, and so far these are excellent. I like a bold line and uninterrupted ink flow, and these deliver that. The colors are spot on and I like the design. The ink is fast drying and doesn't bleed through. Would def recommend giving them a try if you're picky about your pens.

I love these pens. The colors are brilliant, which is awesome. If you take good care of them, they should last a long time. The number one way to do that is, don't let anyone else use them. There was a time when I let my family & friends use my pens and other stuff … but not any more. I got tired of spending money on replacing stuff, especially my pens. Plus, me being a perfectionist, I have a hard time letting anyone use anything I own. :)

I don't do artsy drawing in my journal but I write A LOT. So these are perfect for my Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks. It's a thicker line that I didn't know I needed til I wrote them out. Very easy to write with as well. I really hope they expand the shades so we can have as big a range as the fineliners. Lovely pens!

I purchased both the Broadliner and Fineliner sets of 20 colors. They have the same colors and work very well in my bullet journal and lettering. The yellow and grey tones are much lighter than the rest. The deeper purple/blue and pinks are bold. The color goes on smoothly and evenly, and doesn’t ghost through the pages of my journal. I had high hopes for the flip back packaging, but when opened, the front flap won’t stay locked allowing the pens to fall over.
