Definite improvement over regular laces
These elastic laces are such a great upgrade from using regular laces in shoes. No dealing with laces coming untied while walking creating a tripping hazard. No annoying knots you have to pick at so you can get your shoes untied. While no instructions weren't included in any of the laces in this set, they are still easy to install. Thread the lace through the lace holes as you would for a typical cloth lace. Once done, grab the round bead with the press-down button (I call it a pinch bead). Insert the lace ends through the opening in the pinch bead while the button is pressed down. Put on the shoes, adjust the fit, and press the pinch bead to secure the laces in that spot. The pinch bead should now be close enough to sit on your shoe. Once you get the laces to the right length, you cut off the excess while still leaving a few inches that hang past the round bead gripper thingy. Then you thread the ends of the laces through the back of the opening that is between the pieces of the end cap (two solid squares of plastic connected by two smaller pieces of flexible plastic) just enough so that the ends of the laces are a millimeter or two away from the edge of the plastic and fit neatly into that part of the end cap, then press the two squares of plastic together until they clamp together and stay firmly closed. This secures the cut ends of the laces so they don't fray, and you can tuck this under the length of lace on your shoe that is down closest to your toes. The length of lace between this end tab and the pincher piece is the extra you have to adjust how tightly or loosely your shoes fit. These particular elastic laces aren't long enough for boots, even low height hiking boots. They're also too long for kid's sized shoes as you will waste a lot of the lace. They make smaller and longer laces for those sizes of footwear. For tennis shoes/sneakers these laces are a great replacement.

Excellent, except for extremely active boy who is very hard on all his shoes.
These are easy to install and work great and love the colors. My son is extremely hard on his shoes and literally steps on his own feet often, and with that abuse, these have held up fairly well, but occasionally the small plastic piece that you install and the ends of the laces have fallen off. For that reason, I do suggest ordering a multipack, but these have served our needs well.

Perfect for sports shoes
Easy to use, just tie off and trim to needed length for a custom fit. We use these for all of our kids' soccer/basketball shoes to prevent them untying mid-game. Multiple other parents have asked where we got these and I always recommend the to everyone. Great value for the money and they work really well

Pretty good but not amazing
Kid came home with the end pulled off both laces on day one. Said they came off when he was trying to tighten. We broke another one when trying to put it on. We broke another one when we closed it on accident then tried to open it. This is all the thing that the loose ends clip into. I have abandoned those and tie them in a knot and melt the ends now. The laces and the sliding tightener work great. Kid can get his high tops on now nice and quick. He knows how to tie his shoes but those ones were really giving him hell! No more!!!

Love them!
Perfect easy to use laces. Works great even on long trail runs. Fits every shoes I’ve put them in. Gives enough stretch for a slip on shoe without loosing up so much you need to readjust for a run.

Excellent value and quantity (Tieless Shoe Laces)
Good elastic qualities for shoe utility, clean and streamlined look and function. The ends are sturdy and thin and laced through even the tightest eyelets. Bonus for small foot (most women, teens & younger): cut in half, the laces are long enough to do a full pair of shoes per lace. You'll have length enough for complete elastic spares just in case the elastic doesn't hold up to shoe washing. Or you can cover twice as many pairs if you are willing to tie off less neatly than the cord capsule option. You could also buy 20 more cord capsules and cover an additional 10 pairs after your first 10. Be careful exploring this idea, as if the elastic is laced too tightly it will not function well over time and will be fussy to put shoes on. Fashionwise, these resemble flat, ribbon style laces made of nylon thread. I am not expecting them to look frayed. I think this is an enduring, classic look, but these laces may not match as uogrades for the hottest trends in athleisure kicks (dual-color, pinstripe, etc.). Frankly I think the slip-on yet fitted benefits are worth it, but I am not a collector (I just like to match my shoe colors to my clothes colors). Once the packets were here, I found the lacing colors were inspirational: I was able to find matches that looked streamlined, stunning or whimsical for more of my shoe colors than I expected. I only had three spares of colors I wasn't interested in, and they were not the ones I would have predicted before purchasing. The photo with the tieless laces rolled up in a spiral was the closest in color (main difference is that there is one neon orange and one medium-tan, not two different orange pairs). It was a longer project than I expected. I unlaced all my shoes of their old laces, pulled the inserts where possible, and ran them all through the dishwasher (yes, really: 1/2 dish tablet per shoe load, never use laundry soap in dishwasher). I set them out to dry in ventilated area for a few days, and finally it took about 20 minutes per pair to lace them without any twists and finish off following the instructions posted in the product information. Note well that 3 of the 10 pairs do not have matching cord capsules. This is pictured in the product info. I do like the matching colored cord capsules much better.

That Clampy Thing (in A minor)
Some sort of instruction RE the plastic clip would have been nice. I'll admit I have an embarrassing IQ and need adult supervision for simple tasks - so much so that the only job I qualify for is an attorney - but I had no idea I was supposed to cut the aglets off, so I kept trying to clip it on top of them. Like another reviewer I also clamped one closed prematurely and spent the next 30 minutes trying to get it back open - so don't do that.
