A winner!
Great cane! Very sturdy, easy to use, just shake out and it assembles itself. Sometimes you have to tug the pieces apart a little to fold up, but i just got this recently so I expect that to get easier as time goes by. There is a misconception about the "gel grip". It is a soft somewhat pliable plastic handle. It has give and is, in my opinion, MUCH more comfortable than the wood handle ones. I recently threw out a wood handled cane because it dug into my palms too much. This isn't gel like shoe inserts, it can't be too cushy or you wouldn't get a good grip on it with your hands. I bought one for myself, and a relative liked it so much i had to buy a second one. Beautiful color ( we got crackled blue). The cane comes folded in a plastic bag with a plastic spacer that holds it shape. I think that plastic is just for keeping it together for shipping and or stocking in a store. Once you get it you won't be able to use that piece to keep it folded. I did what others have mentioned. I bought some velcro, the kind with sticky glue on the back. I think i paid a dollar at a dollar store. it came with a strip with a smooth side and a strip with a grippy side. I cut the two strips in half. So i had two smooth and two grippy strips. I look the protective plastic off the back of the strips and glued them together, back to back. One side smooth, one side grippy. The resulting piece was large enough to keep the cane folded when it was in four sections, but not too long that it couldn't easily be wrapped near the top of the cane when in use so not lost. i had enough material to make us each a velcro strap. I hope that makes sense? It worked perfectly. My relative who wanted one was so impressed on how sturdy it was but also light compared to some of her other canes.

Impressive.
I spent a few hours looking for sturdy but attractive canes ( a girl thing) for myself. I have rather severe back problems and wanted one that was not only strong but had a nice handle grip. There were so many canes to choose from but most were by far more money. This cane does not disappoint. I bought a Drive Medical Cane several years ago. I have had absolutely no problems with it. It has remained strong but is now a bit scratched and because I occasionally drop it the wooden handle was a bit beat up.This one has a nice cushiony grip that is so much easier on your hands. I have to lean a bit heavily on mine due to a hip flexor issue currently. I find it is just perfect for me. The combination of a sturdy cane with a handle that is made with comfort, and dependability in mind is exactly what you look for in a cane. The price is outstanding, and does not reflect how very fine this cane is. I would absolutely compare it to more expensive ones. But the ergonomic handle is far more useful and thoughtfully made. For those that use canes daily, this is a deal breaker. Who wants their wrists or hands to hurt from a handle that may be attractive but not comfortable?Thank you Drive medical for the thought you put into your products.Only one recommendation. Make it in more colors I bought the blue one, and I love it, but I would love some that are a bit lighter in color. Perhaps even a colored handle that matches the cane.I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Handy and Sturdy and Foldable!
I used this on a trip to California and it was flawless thru airports, on airplanes, and for walking down very long halls and up/down steps. It was easy to fold and the little plastic keeper it comes with held up great. I had a velcro strap just in case because some people experienced the little plastic keeper as breaking but I didn't. I also had a bag my Hercules flute stand fits in and the cane fit perfectly all folded up.The is a slight clicking sound but I don't see anyway to eliminate that except to make certain I pushed all the pieces together very securely and then it wasn't noticeable. I bet some silicone around the little metal adjustment button would solve it completely once the perfect length has been settled on.I would buy this again and was so thankful to have a cane that collapses to fit in the back of the airplane seat pocket, store in my bag while dining out with groups, or just being able to store it folded up.UPDATE 2021: Just got a 2nd one because I need 2 canes to walk now. I am also getting a mobility scooter and these will fit perfectly in the basket at the back. I had no problem getting the stickers off the latest version and it matches my original purchase in 2015. (Just use peanut butter or WD-40 to get any remaining stickiness off completely!)UPDATE 2023: Both canes still working perfectly and looking great. Some scratches but used often so that is to be expected. Really like these portable canes with their fold up option and handles still comfortable as well.

Nice cane - too tall for me
Wish this came in more sizes. I need a shorter cane 30” or so, shortest this goes is 32.5” so it does not work for me, unfortunately. Wish it could adjust smaller. Beautiful blue crackle color and this folds very compact. But I have to return and look for one that fits me.

Lightweight, folds; easy to use and store.
I am a senior citizen with arthritis. These are the only canes I have used so far. I keep spares in the house and car so that I am never without. They work well and are easy to adjust to my height.
