Unfinished 1 Inch MDF Wood Blocks for Crafts (4x4 in, 4 Pack)

When I ordered, I didn't realize these were solid MDF, not cradle-board-type construction. However, they took the mixed media, adhesive and acrylic paint well. Because they are solid the hanging wire sticks our more than I would like, but that's my fault for not purchasing a cradle board and not a reflection of the product. If I'd had time to drill a hole in the back to go over a hanging nail, that would have been better. But, again, that is on me.

I used these to fix a large hole that I had in my drywall that was discovered after removing a large mirror in my bathroom. I needed to patch with drywall and I was able to use these to have something to attach the drywall to.

For an MDF product, this is fine. However, I was searching for Balsa wood when this came up in my feed. It is my fault that I purchased it without re-reading, but whatever keywords are used in this listing, which cause it to come up when someone searches for 'balsa wood', should be removed. Unfortunately, it was cut before I could return it. BUT, if you are truly just looking for some MDF, this is fine.

I used this block to space my wainscoting in my dining room. I suggest you measure and mark the block before using it. This will ensure you use the same block size and direction throughout the project. I found a block slightly off but nothing noticeable, so I decided to stick to the same block throughout my project for a more seamless look. The painter's tape was strong enough to hold the block while I nailed some things in place. Which means the block is very lightweight. However, for the most part, lines were drawn throughout the bottom wall by dragging the block down and across the wall for a template.

these blocks are well made and easy to use for my crafts. I like making small, encouraging signs with these. “welcome” “Chose Kindness”, etc. They stand up on their side well, and fit nicely on a desk, counter or windowsill. The blocks accept paintt well, and are smooth enough to paint words on. you could also use these blocks under furniture legs to increase height, if necessary.

It is like a veneered particle board. Will do for current project but is not a block of wood as most would expect. The veneer is well done and would look nice if shellacked or stained and coated.
