Small pieces, but good.
This was a gift for someone who LOVES collecting rocks. They seemed to really love the gift. Personally I thought that the rocks and other pieces were much too small, but I guess I should have suspected that giving the size of the box and claimed quantity. I loved that a magnifying glass came with it and the sheet with pictures to match everything in order to know what each thing/rock is. I believe it serves its purpose and is educational. I believe it contains a great variety. The person who was given this seemed to be really invested in every single little thing inside the box and most importantly they seemed to really be enjoying themselves as well.

Great present!
Bought this, a 5 gallon bucket, and 50 lb bag of sand. Layered rocks and sand, and my 12 year old spent over 3 hours digging through to find all of her treasures. Very fun!

Beautiful set. The geode did not disappoint.
Bought it for a 69 year old kid to share with her grand. No screens. Just what you can find in nature.

Perfect gift!
Purchased as a Christmas gift for a “crystal” obsessed 6 year old and it was an absolute hit! Comes with 2 rock identification posters and a tiny plastic magnifying glass. Most of the 300 rocks are the tiniest of pebbles, however they are polished and pretty. My 6 year old loves combing thru them to see why she can find and the tiny size is what allows you to get so meany Rick specimens. Various sizes of rocks arrived in separate bags. My favorite was the larger rough rocks. The tiny rocks have a potential for messiness but we avoid that by spreading them out on a cookie sheet to prevent spoilage on the floor. The geodes were tiny but fun to open, definitely needed the adult to open/ not posible for a younger kid. Overall definitely worth the price I paid for it.

Quick collection
My son loves these. He recently got into collecting rocks and gems and this was a huge hit. Most of the rocks were pebbles, smaller then a pea, but there were some really cool ones. Even a few geodes he got to hammer open. Worth the purchase.

Purchased this for my 6 year old son who loves collecting shiny things like crystals and rocks. Would have been nice to have a more detailed booklet - not that its going to be read by the child, but it would be a good addition. I did note that many of the stones were much smaller than what appears in the video. There were a few bigger ones, but most were smaller than my pinky nail. Came with some fossils and a neat little clear case to put some items in. We did have to purchase a container to put everything in and sort it out. The bag is not big enough.

I bought it for me. Not a kid. I love rocks. Wish this was around when I was a kid. All the specimens are amazing and interesting to look at. The booklet and poster are great. The cracked geode was only as big as a marble. That made me laugh. But it's cute. The other two unbroken geodes are about the size of eggs. Love the fossils, shiny rocks, and raw pieces. I already have display ideas. Including using the chip pieces as a bed to display a couple of different personal items. Maybe in a glass jar. There is a plastic display case that came with this, too. I would love a follow-up set. Will keep my eyes peeled. I think this would be a great gift for a kid who shows interest in this sort of thing, as I did when I was a kid. I used to bring rocks home for my mother as gifts. That's the kind of kid who might really love this.
