My son loves trains and not just any train but MTA New York trains so I was lucky to find one

Wheels on one of the train cars was broken. The train won’t stay on the track, won’t even make a turn with out falling off. Other than that my son liked it.

It’s a cheap little plastic train, but as long as the track is put together properly and laid flat, it runs pretty smoothly. The front car lights up and makes train noises. The doors don’t open; the side details are actually stickers. We bought two sets to get a longer train and additional track, and it does slow the train down quite a bit. Please don’t expect anything extravagant; it’s a $30 plastic train. We are happy enough for what we bought it for, and it was worth the little bit we spent on it.

The only reason I bought this one was because my son just couldnt wait until Saturday for a brand new one. I saw this one and it said it was in VERY GOOD condition. The second I open the box the clip to attach one of the train cars to the other car was broken. The track is so uneven it makes the train fall off the track once turned on. HORRIBLE! I wish I never bought it.

Obviously a $35 train set isn't going to be all that amazing, but for that kind of price it's hard to complain. This set is basically all plastic including the rails themselves. I'd say the biggest downside to this set is that there's no way to run the train without the loud sound effects. All or nothing! Even if the sound effects were off, I think this train would still be relatively loud compared to higher quality sets because of crude, high friction operation. It's so crude that the drive wheels don't turn along with the curves of the track. That low-cost setup just happens to be good enough to function. It derails more easily than a normal train set as well, probably because of those static drive wheels. I wouldn't really recommend this as a train for a child to play with, especially since there's no way to control the speed and actually have some real solid play with it. I would think most kids would break this set pretty quickly as well. I think the plastic snaps that keep the tracks together have a defined and limited lifespan (i.e., be as careful as you want disassembling but those plastic clips seem like they will wear out no matter what). I wanted a tree under my Christmas tree that was public transit/subway car themed, and this fits the bill and looks good enough from a distance.

The build quality of this train set is very poor. It's made of a very lightweight plastic. The wheels are poor and flimsy. The doors and windows are poor quality stickers. The sounds it makes are not like an NYC subway train at all. It sounds like a poor quality recording of a Choo Choo train. So very disappointed in this product. Because it's so light weight plastic and the wheels are flimsy it can wobble a bit on the track as it goes. Not worth anywhere near $38. Maybe only worth $7 AT most. Definitely would not recommend getting this.
