This arrived in perfect condition, even more beautiful than the picture, is solid and straight and seems to work well. Since I plan to use it for hanging earrings for display and use I will probably add a small knob to make opening it easier (which should be easy since it is real wood), but for those wanting something to look like a picture frame it would be perfect as-is. The back is not solid wood but most frames are not and who cares if you are hanging it on the wall? The velvet backing has enough thickness that i am able to push a push-pin all the way in and it stays.

Very pleased with quality. These cases are deep and versatile. Real glass. Nice cherry-stained wood frame. Two secure hangers on backs to enable wall mounting vertically or horizontally. Hinges seem sturdy enough, not worried because case is not manhandled or repetitively operated each day. Lids stay firmly closed for wall hanging. I do wish there was an addition of some sort for more ease at opening the case, instead of digging fingernails in between the lid and base. I bought three of these, in two different sizes, to display favorite polished petrified wood samples. An addition of foam I placed inside (covered with textiles of choice) anchors pieces in place for wall mountings. Plan to buy more, in each size, for a wall consisting of only these displays in a creative, but uncluttered, arrangement that will show off favorite wood and and other specimens in a classy way. Haven't figured out best way to illuminate specimens in the cases. Light from outside imposes glaring across the glass surfaces, obscuring view. "Fairy lights" placed inside sounds lovely, might try this. Maybe placed between fabric on foam and a sheer type directly beneath specimens. Would require removal from wall frequently to relace batteries, but easy enough and worth it if the effect is nice. Looking forward to buying more and creating this "museum" wall, now that I've found the cases that are perfect for the project 🙂

I came up with an idea to make a unique present for our granddaughter; take a box like this and securely attach it to a small table. The give her a bunch of different seashells I'd collected in Florida over the years to arrange in this display box. She loved the gift! Since she opens it to change the shells displayed, I was happy to see the sturdy hinges on this box. We did add a small chain to the lid so that it would stay open (she wouldn't have to hold it open), but the entire unit is very well made and is attractive! I am aware I didn't use this box as the manufacturer intended, but I am sure it will hold up to many years of a little girl displaying all sorts of things in it! I highly recommend it!

Forever Frames shadow boxes are very sturdy and well-made, and the furniture-grade finish and hardware, deep opening, and thick black felt inside are perfect. I use them to display and access vintage jewelry, and as I have a ton of vintage jewelry I have so far gotten four, and I'm not done yet! I have two in cherry, and just got two more in white. Some of my pieces are too long to fit without flopping and I need 20" or more in height. I would happily buy a bigger one from Forever Frames, but this size is their largest . I found others the right size in rough barn wood, or back opening, thin backing, with hardly any depth, or custom made for a much higher price. The craft/hobby store shadow boxes are flimsy and not comparable to Forever Frames. I decided that the excellent design and high quality were more important than these frames being a bit smaller than I need. My first two are wall mounted, the third and fourth were chosen to stand on a white dresser.

We wanted a high-end shadow box to commemorate the memory of our beloved sheltie. After looking at craft stores and online, we decided on this one as it was large enough, a cherry finish, and a magnetic closure. The box is beautiful but it was only shipped in one thin layer of bubble wrap—not enough to really protect it. It came with a slightly pushed in corner (see photo two), but since it will be on the top we decided it was fine. Overall, we are happy with the quality and color of the box. Her memory will live on and she is by the door to greet us whenever we come home.

This item arrived very soon after I ordered. It came before the due date. I was worried after reading some of the reviews that mentioned broken glass, a bad finish, etc. Well, I did not see any of those problems. The unit was securely packaged by the vendor. (Box within a box). The corners were reinforced with foam and the glass was well protected. The finish is very well done. The wood is good quality with no damage. Due to shelf space, I am intending to display the box on a horizontal side, so the magnet closure will work great with no latch to get in the way. I would definitely recommend this product. The vendor did a great job. I am going to use it to display my veteran brother's medals.

This was packaged extremely well. The corners had protectors, there was styrofoam in middle, and the outside of it was covered well. The box itself is awesome, the bottom where you place your mementos is a velour cloth that the small push pins I used went in very easily and removing them to readjust was easy and did not show where the other pin came out. I used it for a display for service metals and the depth was great. The magnet to keep closed was strong enough. I did not hang it. The black color made it look more elegant.

I used this to make a memory box for my parents who just sold there house, it contains all the memories from when they lived there. The closure is beautiful and functional for what my idea was for the memory box. It has a strong magnetic top that connects it so it doesn’t open up accidentally. It’s easy to set up and remove items from it. The color is beautiful and works and fits nicely in my parents apartment that they have it set up in.

This was used as a display case for a retired coworker showcasing his accomplishments- pins, medallions, service awards, etc. Worked beautifully, used short pins and double sided gorilla glue to hold items in place

I wish it was deeper. But it's cute
