Good quality for price
These were bought for my PENTAX camera lenses and although I did make a slight mistake in not noticing that the front lens on my SIGMA 70-300mm zoom rotates thereby making the petal hood not suitable, which was a disappointment, but this is not a fault, but could and did use rubber collapsible hood so it is a good set . The other SIGMA lens 18-200mm doesn't rotate front lens and I used a different diameter set for that lens both are near identical to original manufacturers hoods but much cheaper as there is a whole set of two with cleaning cloth WHAT a bargain .

Cheap and does the job
Works OK and very cheap. Very flimsy compared with my old one so it loses its shape a lot when being used. However, this makes it fold very neatly to go into my camera bag so less likely to crack than my old more solid one from Jessops which looked good and solid but quickly cracked when the camera was in a fairly tight camera bag.

Great little, cheap lens hood for my Helios 44M-4. Many thanks.
58mm - Great little, cheap lens hood for my Helios 44M-4, lives on lens and lens cap goes over it. Has not deformed as others have said. Quick and easy to extend when needed. Same with 52mm I also bought, found that middle extension is best for 28mm, full extended it can vignette lens.

It's OK with some reservation
As a lens hood/shade it very good works really well 5*star - can't deny it's functionality for it's main purpose. However, be advised the quality of material rubber is well below the standards I was expecting - quite thin and to flexible, don't think it will be too long-lasting. The Issue is when opening the hood to any of the 3 different positions the rubber in between the base and outer edge when opened is much thinner and weaker than the rest of the hood. To be candid, it's OK for the price as you get 2 of them in the package thus working out just over £3 each. This is probably why it feels really cheap and nasty because it actually is - you get what you pay for! For it's primary purpose it does the job intended as a hood/shade it's OK but I wouldn't order any more in different sizes, I'll look to a better brand next time. My views and are based against the standard rubber lens hood from Jessops (own brand) that has twice the thickness and more robust in manufacturing quality for exactly the same money spent.

Whats not to like !
Not sure how anyone could criticise these for £7.50 for Two. Purely as lens insurance they are worth £3.50 each! On the end of a large lens with a 77mm ring they are perfect for that one time the camera swings around and hits something ! These act as great shock absorber protectors for a start, even if you cant be bothered to extend them for telephoto etc . If I put my expensive solid shade on and bashed into something, firstly the solid shade would get damages and maybe even the lens thread ! So having a rubber tyre around the end is simply a No brainer, unless you dont ever have accidents or you just dont care about your stuff that much ! Thumbs Up !

Very poor quality
The rubber on this lens hood is not rigid enough to do the job properly. When extended, the hood doesn't stay circular, but deforms, which can lead to random vignetting depending what shape the hood takes. I've owned numerous cheap rubber hoods over the years and all have been far more substantial and able to hold their shape with no issues. This one is a big disappointment. Another annoyance is that the hood isn't glued to the mounting ring, so it's easy to accidently pull the rubber hood off the mounting ring. This could easily be solved with a dab of glue, but just serves to reinforce the poor quality of the item. The only positive I can say about the hood is that it is usable in it's non-extended state as the rubber keeps its shape better, although the hood then protrudes by so little it is barely worthwhile unless you are using it with a wide angle lens. Even then, I'd recommend buying a better quality wide angle hood.

Good idea, easy to put on, value for money
I found this worked well except when using wide angle lens; other than that which was to be expected ; it is light (every gram counts on flights these days); does the job and was value for money.

Great purchase to add to kit bag
Firstly, this is not a professional grade item. It costs £8 for two and a generic cloth. Reviews on this item have been very harsh. Was skeptical after reading reviews but as stated above, they’re not canon or Nikon grade. They’re budget items to keep in the kit bag to use if needed. They’re not designed for wide angle lens’ at all, yes when collapsed and there’s a certain way to make them work with wide angle lens but do not buy these. Most photographers with common sense would look for ones designed for wide angle lens’. The fit was spot on, on both hoods, they were packaged in their own individual boxes along with the cloth in a bag, wasn’t squashed, but these would easily form to how they’re supposed to be. Wide angle lens at 18mm showed a fair bit of vignetting however there is a way to fold these to offer some protection from the sun and light but you really should be buying one specifically designed for wide angle lens, any photographer would do! At about 28-35mm they’re useable with no vignetting depending if full frame or crop and what type of lens you have for crop sensor. The hoods fit nicely onto filters, the lens caps you have will fit into the centre as normal, and also the hoods can be directly attached to lens and a filter screwed into the hood along with a lens cap. Overall im happy spending £8 on these as something to throw around on my lens’ I’d buy these again and have no issue recommending to anyone whom wants a cheap alternative to the £50+ pro grade versions.

I take a lot of photos through bus windows and get a lot of reflections of those sitting in front of me included in my shots. Because I have learned that putting the lens against the bus window will minimize reflections, I have tried that. However, I am not happy with many of the results, so I began to look for a hood that was not rigid and that would protect my lens. There were several options, but because the Sony RX10 IV is a bridge camera, I needed a hood that would not interfere with the manual zoom and manual focus rings. I found one brand on Amazon, but the seller had it listed for $34.95 and charged a 50% restocking fee. This pair was identical to that model, but far more reasonably priced. I liked that the metal ring allowed the hood to be screwed onto the lens as it was secure and would not “pop” off. However, it does “pop” off the metal ring if you try to squash your lens cap into a camera case that is not quite large enough. My husband super-glued the ring to the rubber hood so this would not happen; he used Gorilla Glue. The lens cap still fit and protected my lens surface; it no longer "popped" off the metal ring. I really like having a backup hood - just in case. There is vignetting when my RX10 IV is set at 24mm; I will have to work with this issue so I do not have a number of circular shots. The hood is extremely effective in preventing glare/reflection when shooting through glass.
