Not Big Enough for Sasquatch or Big Hair, but a Nice Cap and Good Value for Average Sized Head
Thinner than other merino wool caps in my collection, fits way too tight for me as well as my wife. I'm going to return it. Length is a bit shorter than most caps, making it suitable for people that don't like to leave a bit of extra in the back or have room for "big hair".The "hand" of the cap is moderatey dry to dry and medium soft-to smooth. Nothing like a Scottish high-end sweater, but much nicer than the poly blended caps that cost half as much. Some of my other caps cost twice as much retail, but they fit, are a bit softer and oilier in the feel, or "hand".The item we received was marked "Small" on the label inside, which explains the situation well. I normally need a "Large" or sometimes an "Extra Large". The Amazon description stated "Free Size...fits all" at the time of purchase. One star off for no sizing and description, but a nice beanie.

It's wool, I'll take it
This isn't a bad little watch cap. I was looking for wool watch caps and having checked a bit of the yarn that was hanging off I am satisfied that this is not acrylic. While this may be merino wool it's not high grade merino. That being said it's only faintly scratchy and perfectly wearable, not bad for a Chinesium import. It's a single layer with the bottom folded up for a double layer over your ears, it's not windproof but it will keep your head warm come what may. I like that it's a thin layer as it keeps it close in and wearable under hoods and other hats. I bought this and a Rothco for a friend figuring I'll just keep whichever one he doesn't like, I like this one so much I'm keeping this one and ordering another one for him. If he prefers the Rothco I'll gladly keep the other one. All in all it's a nice little hat for the money I would and have ordered it again.

Soft wool, nice beanie, delivery and chemical smell only issues
While I had issues with the delivery :it was claimed delivered when it hadn’t been, it did finally arrive. It claims 100% merino wool. It does feel like soft wool. There is a slight chemical smell and I’m not sure what that is. It could be the plastic bag- it’s airing out now. I don’t feel that it’s itchy at all. It’s a bit thin but still maintains warmth. While it states black smoke, it is more gray than black. Overall I’d say that it is a nice wool beanie for the price.

A well made woolen product from a "cotton" company
I bought this beanie to keep my head warm on cold days. This hat is much warmer than Smartwool Men's The Lid (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N2L961R/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0). It is heavier with much more wool although it is still not tightly knit (I can see light through it) so this still won't be warm enough for very cold days without a hoodie. I think that the appearance is very good and there is plenty of fabric so it can be pulled very low to cover your forehead and ears. When I got warm, I found that I could fold it up and be cooler.

Even though this hat is OSFA, it's really quite large.
I purchased this hat for the frigid temperatures that the Maine whitetail deer rifle/shotgun season can bring, after my father and I endured one such Saturday morning this past November. The face and ear covering I was wearing at the time was not thick enough to stop the harsh wind, so I decided on this hat. Never got a chance to test it outside because I fell ill shortly after, but the hat is thick and roomy, and can be pulled down low over the ears for good coverage. I will try it while out ice fishing this winter.

Recently purchased a horrible ten-dollar acrylic beanie
Recently purchased a horrible ten-dollar acrylic beanie. It kept getting stretched out. Purchased this beanie with the hope that it won't lose much elasticity when wearing it.I noticed right away that the overall quality is excellent. It isn't the thickest beanie, but the stitching is tightly woven, looks very sturdy. No awkward bump at the top of the beanie from the stitching. It is definitely wool, and does have a minimal amount of itch to it. Just the way I like it.Will update on how it holds up and how warm it is very soon.

Merino Wool?? Slouchy hat??
I have merino wool long underwear, socks, hats, and gloves from different sellers and none of those items make me itch. This hat is itchy though and feels the same as my regular wool hats. I would be very surprised if they could prove this is merino wool. I can get regular wool hats for under $10, but i bought this because it said merino wool and the price was decent if that were true. The hat looks good if wearing with a cuff, but if you're looking to have it rolled down and do the slouchy hat look- it has a 2 inch seam to one side and it as a misaligned weave that's created to make for a better looking cuff if rolled up. So if you're a fan of the rolled down slouchy hat look, this isn't the hat that provides that look. I also needed to use a seam ripper to remove the large tag on the inside that was poking me in the head, and the Rich Cotton logo on the brim that was poking me in the forehead.Basically, if you want a hat that fits well (minus the inside tag and outside logo) and looks nice with a cuff and you don't mind the itch, this is your hat. Not for me, but I don't want to go through any return processes for the amount of money I spent and effort required. I wear a lot of hats, but wont be buying this brand anymore. I suggest they get in touch with their vendors regarding the type of wool used or update their description so it's more accurate to the product they are selling.

I dream of beanie
This is a beautifully crafted Merino wool beanie that fits just right as a one size fits all. Most times, just thinking about anything wool sets me itching and breaking out in all kinds of rash. This beanie does not do this and is well worth wearing on all occasions. Nebraska weather is fair weathered, one minute warm and sunny, the next you need your jacket and beanie to get you through the rest of the day. This stands up to tough weather and keeps me warm while at dog park or riding my bike across the trails. Highly recommend. It is also really nice looking and can be worn for all kinds of occasions! Fits perfectly, looks good, keeps me warm on these harsh Nebraska, turn on a dime, days.

Itchy!
Although the design was good and the hat warm, it was also incredibly itchy! Two people have tried it and after 20 mins of wear out foreheads were very itchy and my friend had a slight rash. I can't believe this is fully merrino wool as have had success with other brands. We carefully hand washed but the hat was still irritating and I ended up throwing away.

It's OK but nothing special. Not great value for money.
This hat is OK, probably not as good quality as I expected for the money. I thought it would be a double skin and perhaps a bit warmer/thicker than it is. It's fine if it's not really cold but I wouldn't want to rely on it if the temperature was well into minus figures.

Rather expensive for the not so great quality
Tried it on and fit is good. However, the wool seems like low quality and makes the hat quite itchy. Will unfortunately have to return. Colour was great.
